She nods without actually looking at me and proceeds to scroll through her phone for a movie to watch. I go back to reading the horror classic I chose for the night and fall asleep.
Before I can fall into a deep sleep, there’s a knock on the door. I crack one eye open towards Cele.
“You did tell Taylor that we’re not going out tonight, right?”
She nods her head and moves my feet from her lap. “Yea. You expecting anyone?”
I shake my head and go back to resting my eyes while she goes to answer the door.
The next thing I know, she shrieks bloody fucking murder and slams the door shut. I immediately jump off the sofa, pulling my butterfly knife out from my back pocket, and flick my wrist to open it, ready to defend her from whatever made her scream.
“What is it, Cele?”
She covers her mouth and calms her nerves before she speaks.
“Um… I believe… I’m pretty sure it’s for you.” She laughs, and my eyebrows squish together in confusion.
With my knife in hand, I walk towards the door. The person on the other side bangs on it for a second time, making me jump. Slowly, my hand wraps around the door handle, and I crack the door open. At the sight of him, I, too, slam the door.
“You’ve got to be fucking kidding me!” I growl, walking back to the sofa and stare at Celeste, who’s now in a fit of hysterical laughter. “It’s not funny.”
She leans over, holding onto her stomach, and fails miserably to hide her amusement. “Oh, but it really is.”
The door opens and in walk Taylor and Micah. The latter is wearing nothing but a goddamn leaf and a full watt smile on display. “Evening ladies.”
I quickly shut my eyes to prevent me from viewing any more of his chiseled, naked body and the damn swimmer’s V at his waist that my fingers itch to touch.
Who the fuck goes out like that on Halloween in Union Point?
“Get out!” I shout, squeezing my eyes, fighting the urge to open them.
I distinctly hear Taylor chuckle. “Both of you!” I demand.
In the span of a single heartbeat, I feel Micah walk near me, even with my eyes closed. “We will, Angel, as soon as you two get dressed.”
“We’re not going out tonight,” I grind out.
Taylor scoffs, but Micah replies, “It’s Halloween. Of course, we are.”
I open my eyes long enough to reach for a pillow to throw at Micah and hit him square in the middle of the angel demon tattoo on his chest, but it doesn’t stop him from moving closer.
I should have thrown my knife.
“Why the fuck are you naked, Micah?”
His eyes glow with amusement as he waves his hand over his leaf covered dick. “I’m not naked. I’m Adam,” he says, wiggling his eyebrows.
Celeste starts her hysterical giggles again, effectively raising my blood pressure.
“This isn’t funny,” I snap at her and turn back to Micah. “Get the fuck out of my dorm, and for the love of all things holy, put some goddamn clothes on.”
“I’ll make a deal with you. I’ll add another leaf to my very thoughtful and creative costume if you get your ass off the sofa and get dressed so we can all go out. I really don’t want to miss tonight’s festivities.”
“Celeste, tell him we’re not going out. Clearly, my English isn’t getting through his thick skull.”
“Oh, I don’t know, Evie. I’m sure we can come up with some impromptu costumes.” She shrugs her shoulders. “Being with them might be the distraction we need.”
My head snaps in her direction, and my jaw literally drops. She’s a damn traitor.
