“Hold up your hair for me.” Eve’s hands gathered my long hair and lifted it off my neck. I did what she asked and held my hair.
Her hands gently straightened out my bikini top and then pulled it up over my breasts. She tied it with care and then kissed my shoulder. “You look beautiful.”
I shivered and felt my nipples harden. I let my hair drop down over my back and shoulders and turned to her. “Thank you.” I smiled and looked her up and down. “And you look hot. I have a feeling that bikini isn’t going to stay on for very long.”
We both giggled, and she gave me a hug. “If all goes well.”
After she let me go, her hands grabbed mine. The look on her face kind of sobered a bit. “I wanted to chat with you before—” her head nodded toward the door, “the festivities begin.”
I nodded and followed her to the bed. She sat down first, and I joined her.
“So, I had a talk with my husband,” she said and gazed over at me. “He clarified a few points for me. He said the worst thing that could happen is to have blurred lines between us. Because that’s when lines get crossed unknowingly. And feelings get hurt.”
I nodded and said, “Yeah, I’ve noticed that these men have a lot of feelings.”
Her head fell back, and she laughed. “They really do.” She smiled at me. “For us.”
I nodded and a warm glowy feeling floated around me.
Around us.
Because I knew exactly what she was talking about.
These men could be overbearing.
And bossy.
And rude.
But they were also loyal to a fault. And even though our relationships weren’t typical—neither was the love we shared with each other.
And the way we shared it.
“I just hope I haven’t—” she looked into my eyes and then let her gaze run down over the rest of my body, “ruined anything with you. Your friendship means the world to me. I hope you know that. And anything—physical between us never has to happen again. If you don’t want it to.”
I tilted my head a bit and asked, “Don’t you want it to?”
Her cheeks turned rosy, and she nodded. “Of course, I do. But not at the cost of our friendship.”
The relief that ran through me surprised me. “Our friendship means everything to me, too. But it was—fun. Fooling around with you, too. I didn’t think we were hurting the men by—doing what we did. But after looking at it from their angles, I get it.”
She grinned widely and sighed. “Good. Because I had fun, too. And I was hoping we’d have more fun with each other tonight.”
A tightness in my belly tugged further between my legs.
“Whatever you’re—you know—in the mood for.” Her cheeks blushed a bit darker, and it made me smile.
“That sounds like a good plan.”
She nodded and grabbed my hand. “Speaking of plans,” her lips tipped up in a huge smile, “I had an idea or two for tonight.”
We laughed.
And giggled.
And made some sexy plans.
And then stood and made our way down to Carlo’s pool.
