“Tell me the odds of us getting married if you’re in the hospital,” I say, softer.
“None,” he whispers.
“Stay home. Keep Hunter and Chase with you, then sleep it off. I will see you three tomorrow to get my things from the house. We’ll kiss, love on each other, then part ways until after the wedding, just like we planned. And we planned it for a good reason, didn’t we?”
“Da,” he answers.
“I love you and I want to marry you. I want to sign our marriage certificate and take your last name. I want to enjoy all three of you in two days, from our vows to the party to the start of our honeymoon. I can’t do that if you’re hurt,” I say.
He sighs. “I want to fall asleep to you braiding my hair, Viper. Why are you so far away?”
“Is that our woman?” Hunter demands. “Dorogaya, come-”
The call drops. I roll my eyes. Sophia laughs as she sits next to me. “Let me guess, they’re a mess without you?”
I smile. “I get it, though. I’m tempted to run back home right now and take care of them.”
“Really?” Sophia arches an eyebrow. “You want to go take care of your three grown fiancés because they’re drunk?”
“No,” I huff, then rub my arm. “I want to take care of them because they’re mine. I want to love on them, hug them, kiss them, get them in pajamas and cuddle them to sleep.”
“I can’t believe you’re sappy,” Sophia giggles. “What happened to my best friend?”
I blush and hit her with a pillow. “You shush! I got Konstantin to ignore Lief’s orders. Do you know what a win that is? It means I’m scary.”
“Sure you are,” she teases. “The strippers thought so too. Want to see the videos?”
“Sophia Agosti, you better delete those right now!”
We wrestle for her phone and she laughs and squeals until Danny comes in. She rolls her eyes. “Juliana was stolen by Kon and Elaine got in a cab, determined to shower in her own apartment.”
I throw myself on the bed. “You’re both married ... does it get easier to be away from your husbands?”
“I might love Massimo, but I don’t always like him,” Danny mumbles.
Sophia gives her a look and Danny rolls her eyes. “No, it doesn’t. Even when we fight, I’d rather be yelling at him and giving him sass, seeing the growing love and lust in his eyes every time we get frustrated than pouting off on my own.”
“Which is why I saw him in the hallway right before Valerie and I got here, right?” Sophia asks.
Danny flips her off, but laughs. “Yes. I couldn’t just leave my husband and baby in Italy. He’s in the room next door.”
I laugh.
“Sophia’s husbands are just down the hall, so I don’t want to hear it,” Danny huffs.
“Let me guess–Link is with Nick?” I ask.
“Nick didn’t feel the need to join a bachelor party,” Sophia says. She doesn’t make any move to leave. “Sometimes being apart from my husbands is nice. It’s good to remember that I’m my own person, not just a wife or mother, even though I love being both.”
“Well then, I’m not wrong for being tempted to go see them,” I mumble.
We pamper ourselves as much as we can in our room, but soon enough, Sophia and Danny fall asleep. I have zero illusions they’ll stay here all night when their families are so close. Still, I make a fake ‘me’ out of pillows, pull the blanket up, then grab my phone.
It’s not too late, only one a.m.
I call one of the security guys and have them take me home. The man asks a few questions, namely why the guys aren’t with me, but I snap at him, reminding him who I am and he’s quiet for the rest of the ride.
I get out, open the door at home, and tiptoe around the house. The guy named Lev sleeps on the couch, but doesn’t stir as I head upstairs. My guys are spread across the bed, not touching each other, wearing only their boxers. I shake my head and take off my shoes. I stumble, glance up, and find Lief’s eyes on me.
