I’ll deal with Jed Simpson another day.
Chapter 25
Holly
Onceagain, wewokeup side by side, our bodies still intertwined. It evoked both intense dislike and deep affection in me.
I hate it because our ten days will end tomorrow, but I’m glad we turned a corner and we’re ending it this way and not how it started.
He’s changed. He’s even taking me out for dinner in New York.A celebration that we got this far without killing each other.
“Sorry, I have to go to work today. Something has come up.” Aiden slides down my body, kissing and licking my flesh, causing shivers to skate through my body. “I’ll make it up to you.”
“It’s your time and dime,” I repeat the words he told me a few days ago. A hint that our days are running out.
“Can I be honest with you?” His voice is smooth and enticing. I think I’d let him tell me anything, and I’d be fine with it.
“Of course, anything.”
“I don’t want to let you go,” he says. The mere mention of it sends my heart into a frenzy. But is this where he gives me a big fat... but?
My lips curl upwards, determined not to let him say the word. “Then don’t.”
Despite there not being a scent match, I know we have scent compatibility and that’s enough.
I want him to want me.
I’ll miss the purrs he makes when he holds me. I’ll miss the way he kisses me. More than anything, I’ll miss his scent. And I’ll... I’ll miss him.
Pure and simple.
“How much do you want me to keep you?” he asks. “When did you fall for me?”
It’s now or never.
“In the elevator at work. The first time I saw you. You were with Colton Sinclair, and I was standing behind you.”
He smiles. “I remember.”
I bite down on my lips before I say, “Do you want me to stay?”
He smiles. “I do. But...”
“Can we talk about the buts tomorrow?” I interrupt.
“I want tomorrow to be a clean slate day. I have so much to tell you, you can hear it later today. And I’ll let you have today to hate me, but tomorrow we start afresh.”
I narrow my eyes as I take in his words.
“It’s really important for me to come clean if we’re going to have a future.. you too.”
“Okay.” I know I’m going to have to tell him about my OmegaFans account. I hope he’s going to not freak out about it.
“We’ll talk later after dinner. We need to get a few things out in the open,” Aiden says, kissing me on the lips as he pushes off the bed. “I’ll be at work until later this afternoon.”
I smile. “I’ll miss you.”
He laughs, holding my gaze for a moment. “Take this, buy something nice to wear.” He hands me a black shiny credit card and says, “The number is 0579. My driver is available at your disposal.”
