No wonder he’s single.
On the aircraft, I take a seat at the front of the plane and drag out my cell and send a message to my mom.
Holly
How is Mexico?
I wait for the bubbles to dance across the screen.
Nothing.
I sigh.
Harry, the largest of Aiden’s bodyguards, sits opposite me. He’s easily six and a half feet in height, and I doubt his shirts are off the racks. The man is a beast.
He skillfully shuffles a deck of cards and smiles at me. “Poker.”
I glance at Aiden who took a seat at the rear of the plane, still not too far away but far enough that he made it clear I’m not needed right now.
“As long as it isn’t strip poker,” I say with a wily grin.
Harry blushes.
How can a mountain of a man look so damn cute?
I giggle at the way he drops a few cards on his lap. I feel Aiden’s eyes burning a hole in my body as he stares, but stays where he is.
“Do you have a pack, Harry? Or does this job stop you from having a love life?”
His icy blue eyes lock onto mine as he says, “We have a pack and a male omega.”
I wasn’t particularly invested in discussing his love life when I began the conversation. My sole intention was to get a reaction from Aiden. And I got it. But now I want to know more.
I smile at Harry. “Oh cool. Is your pack all male?”
He shuffles the cards again before flicking a card across the table to me. “Our pack dynamic is different to most. We have two females, a beta and an omega. Everyone else is an alpha male.”
“It sounds like it might be a large pack. Does everyone get equal loving?”
“Loving.” He grins.
“You know what I mean.”
“We all share,” he answers, then his voice deepens as he whispers, “Is that what you wanted to hear?”
“I’m just interested in pack dynamics,” I reply.
Unfortunately, I don’t see Aiden getting closer because I’m too busy leaning forward as we have the conversation.
Harry laughs.
But not Aiden. He scoops me up in his arms. Sits in my chair and deposits me on his lap.
“What’s so funny?” he asks.
I attempt to rotate my body to speak to him, but my back becomes stiff... Something else stiffens, too.
I wriggle slightly, attempting to maneuver myself away from the iron bar that is bearing down on my center.
