I nod. “I need my sweater. My blankets. I need your clothes. I need to make a nest,” I cry out.
“Let me in and I can soothe you. Let me give you enough for now, and then I can drive us back to New York. We’ll be more comfortable there.”
Another searing pain descends and clenches my core. “Please, help me.”
The door opens. It’s slow at first. Aiden lingers in the doorway, hesitant to step over the threshold without my permission.
“Holly.” His tone is all alpha. I emit a gentle purring sound in response. “Do you want me?”
“I need you.”
He plummets to the floor and I observe him as he maneuvers on all fours until he reaches the edge of the bed.
“Good boy,” I say and try to smile, but it’s more of a grimace. I groan. “No more good boy. I need you now.”
He rises from his kneeling position and then lets a kiss fall onto my lips. I relax into it, not quite believing this is real. “And you have me. I won’t let you walk away from me.”
What is he saying?
“You’re not?” My words are a breathless utterance.
His smile is gentle as he shakes his head. “I need you in my arms, underneath me, on top of me. Anywhere... As long as you’re with me.”
Another flush rises to my skin.
“Aiden. We’ll talk after this is over.” I’m still lucid enough to recognize that it’s my heat influencing his words.
I have to remember that.
“We will, baby girl. I promise nothing will change.”
I hold my palm to this cheek. “I’m scared.”
“Of what?”
“Of being locked with your knot. Of losing control. Of presenting my neck to you.”
“You can lose control and I promise I won’t take advantage if you get to the stage of presenting your neck.”
“And knotting me. I’ll be begging for it, and I don’t know if you’ll be able to resist it.”
“I promise I won’t claim you.” He pauses for a moment. “Knotting... I know I’ll be lying to you if I promise not to knot you. Miami warmed you up for this. You took my knot like a goddess.”
I gasp as a gush of slick rushes out of me. “I’m making a mess of the bed.”
“A wonderful, sticky mess, and I want to be part of it.” His eyes search my face, waiting for permission to rise onto my poor excuse of a nest. And when I hold out my hand, he takes it.
“I’m in control now, baby girl. If I call you Omega, it’s my Alpha taking over.”
He kneels on the mattress and removes his shirt; I grab it as he hands it over. The fabric glides under my nose, leaving a delicate hint of cherry blossom in the air.
More of his sweet scent wraps around me. Chocolate and orange, mixes with the floral essence that drift in and out of it and makes his perfume so unique. I noticed that his brothers, Eric and Ryder, had a similar scent. Not as perfect. Each lacked the floral undercurrent, but each was beautiful in a way I’ve never scented on an actual alpha before Aiden.
But it’s only his scent that sends shivers down my spine.
I catch his gaze. My tongue probes out and I lick my lips.
After covering me with his large body, he leans down to my face. In that split second before his lips meet mine, his intense gaze burns through me. Even his kiss is different. Normally it’s like a thunderous day. Today he is kissing me in a way he never has before now. He moves with deliberate slowness, as if savoring every moment and wanting me to do the same.
