I’ve agreed to spend ten days with an alpha, and I checked my bank balance at my apartment and I’m already fifty thousand dollars richer. Two hundred and forty hours and this will be over and I’ll be living the life I always wanted.
You can do this. Forget what he smells like and just do it.
I push back my shoulders and look up at him. “Over one thousand dollars an hour. How could I be doubting myself?”
His brows lift and his lips form a slight frown as he turns and strides away. He sits on the couch and effortlessly takes off his shoes. “I’m surprised you’re willing to sell yourself.”
I smile sweetly as I stay calm and unaffected by the provocation. “I don’t see it like that.”
He leans back, running his fingers through his thick hair as he studies me. “How do you see it?”
“It’s just a job. I sell myself every day I go into the office. I work for nine… ten… sometimes eleven hours and get paid. What’s the difference?”
“Sex…”
My core tightens as his gaze locks on mine. He doesn’t flinch one bit as the word lingers in the air.
He just stares.
I know what I signed up for, but his blunt words about what will transpire between us give it a sense of realism.
“You don’t know me.”
“Maybe I know you better than you think. I know what you need.”
There’s an air of mystery surrounding him that piques my curiosity. It’s not only the way he’s looking with a stare that makes my clit pulse at the silent promise.
A smile graces my face as I arch an eyebrow. “I doubt it.”
His eyes light up, and a mischievous grin forms on his face, causing the skin to crinkle at the sides.
I don’t know what it is about him. His scent is addictive and I need to find my smell deactivator spray to dull his scent. If I don’t, I’ll be purring and begging before the end of the first twenty-four hours.
Chapter 9
Aiden
Iknewthemomentshe walked away from her ex-boyfriend with me, we would end up in my penthouse, and now I’ve gotten her to myself, I’m going to devour her.
One kiss... one taste... one lick at a time.
I can’t stop watching her as she twists and turns, glancing around my home and looking at everything around her. I suspect she is in awe of the opulence that surrounds me.
My bodyguards have already left my home, they travel with me as far as my apartment.
I don’t enjoy having bodyguards. I find their scrutiny unbearable, but ever since Forbes listed me as an eligible bachelor, I’ve had bodyguards to protect me. Not only from omegas, but from betas and alphas too, and all of them begging me to make them theirs. I don’t need a permanent person in my life. Not even Holly will change that.
“Let me show you your room.”
Her eyes pop open, and she nods as her lips press into a thin line.
I take her worn-out suitcase, its broken wheels scraping against the marble floor as we make our way down the hallway.
At the end, I open the door to show her a small bedroom. Larger than the one she has in her apartment but still small enough to not overwhelm her inner omega.
“Did you bring the blankets you like to sleep with?” I control the volume of my voice, ensuring it remains soft. I know omegas get sensitive when talking about their nests and don’t want to be the one who upsets her.
“I brought my favorite blanket and sweater. They’ll be enough.” She glances around the pastel colored room. Pinks, rose golds, sky blues are all around but the bedding it white to not clash with anything she brought.
