I don’t knock as I barge into the room and say, “Your time with this company has come to an end.”
His mouth opens and shuts in stunned silence. I got confirmation that everything was in order to get rid of him two days ago.
And I have to... for her.
“I won’t tolerate omegas not feeling safe while they work here, and you don’t make your assistants feel safe.”
“What? You don’t know what you’re talking about. Ask Nicola, I don’t harm her and I didn’t harm Holly.”
“She left because of the way you treated her. I heard her that day.”
“It was office banter. We had fun together.”
“You went to her apartment. You pestered her.”
“I didn’t. Holly was fair game. You saw what she was like.” I know he is alluding to her OmegaFans account. There’s a simmer of fury boiling in the pit of my stomach. “I would’ve claimed her if I was that alpha.”
I have to control the rage building inside me. “You won’t ever do that. Because Holly ismine.”
His jaw clenches as he suddenly understands everything. “You were the one who took her through her heat?”
I smile. “I am.”
He chuckles darkly. “She ran from you. Not me.”
His implication makes my jaw involuntarily twitch. “I should have gotten rid of you the first time that I noticed you leering at her. When she stood up to you, told you why she wanted to leave.”
“You can’t get rid of me. I know everything about this team. You’re not a lawyer,” he hisses.
I grin. “And I’ve spent two months making sure everything you touch is protected because I know you would’ve taken data with you. Otherwise, you would have been escorted out of the building at Christmas. This way you leave with only money. A large pay-off but only on signing an NDA. Choice is yours.”
“To protect an omega!” He hisses. “You’re getting rid of me to protect an omega.”
My anger is simmering just below the surface, ready to erupt. I inhale to manage any potential outburst. “Myomega. I will do anything to protectmy omega. One day, you’ll feel the same way about yours.”
He exhales deeply. “Can we talk about it?” he says, much softer.
I turn on my heels. “No.”
I give a subtle nod to my security staff, who approach him with a confident stride.
Now it’s time to get on the plane and win back my omega.
Holly… The girl whose scent tormented me for three years. I’m not waiting any longer for her to be mine.
Once I’m back in my office, I pick up my phone and wait for my personal assistant to answer. “I need to speak to the owner of the Los Angeles Raiders.”
“I’ll get him for you.” With a swift motion, she disconnects from the call, and it’s only three minutes later when my desk phone rings.
I quickly answer, “Aiden Ramsay.”
“Hello Aiden, it’s been a long time.”
“It has Pierre. How’s the sunny side of the country?”
He laughs. “Let’s say I’m glad I own a hockey team to cool me down.” There’s a brief hesitation before he queries, “I have to say, I’m taken aback by your phone call.”
“I’m aware of how things ended between us, but the past is something that will always remain in the past. I no longer have a gripe with you.”
