He pivots and starts walking, making me follow him.
“We’re on vacation, sweetheart,” he says in a husky tone while my eyes go to his jet–black hair.
He gives me a side-eyed glance and a naughty smile.
“Yeah…” he murmurs. “We’ll spend time at the shooting range first. And then we get out of town.”
“Seriously?”
He no longer looks at me.
“Yes, seriously.”
We enter his bedroom.
His hand breaks away from mine while he heads to his walk-in closet.
“Are you saying we need to pack a suitcase and everything?” I ask as he pulls a few sets of clothes from the closet and tosses them on the bed.
“If you want to. Unless you think that dress is enough,” he says, obviously in a good mood.
“How long will we be on vacation? Are we spending the night over there?”
“Many nights.”
“I don’t have that much stuff.”
“We’ll buy what you need.”
I peer at him, my eyebrows lifted with a questioning look.
He winks at me while folding his clothes and dropping them into his suitcase.
“Do you want us to leave today or not?” he asks, amused.
“I, uh… I don’t know what to say.”
His eyes move down.
“Get a couple of dresses and something warm for tonight. Don’t worry about the rest.”
I still don’t move and look at him with my lips open.
“Are we going to some place in particular?” I ask.
“We’re taking some time off. And as I said, we’re on vacation. We’ll figure out the rest.”
“What about the casino and hotel?”
“My men will take care of it.”
“Hmm… We’re going alone?”
He leans to me and kisses my lips.
“You’re asking too many questions. Some men will travel with us. They won’t bother us. It’s part of the protocol. We won’t even know they’re with us. I want to show you parts of Nevada. I doubt you’ve seen those places before.”
I search his eyes, unable to speak.
