What is happening to me?

The fire swirling in my chest spills over my lips, hardens my nipples, and fuels the pull inside my abdomen.

The tension becomes unbearable, and the pleasure seems unavoidable.

The magnetic pull between us makes it so easy for me to fall into his chest. I don’t even know if he had hoped that when he’d slid his hand into my hair.

All I know is that I’m pressed against him in the middle of the casino with my fingers around his neck.

His eyes dive into mine, and honestly, this kind of greeting is not what I expected.

We should probably discuss things.

Despite of what Vito said, I have an explanation for why I’d left so abruptly and what I’d hoped to accomplish.

There’s no time for that.

Because time stays still and the immediate reality pulls away from me as I swim in an ocean of heat with his masculine scent wrapped around me.

I’m so taken with how I feel against him that I push onto my toes, wrap my arms around his neck, and press my lips to his without caring that we’re in public.

His reaction is minimal, yet his surprise is significant when I murmur against his lips.

“I missed you.”

He gives me a quiet, raspy laugh, and with that, I step into his territory.

“Let’s get out of here,” he says, taking my hand and walking me to the exit. “Are you hungry?” he asks.

“Yes, I am. And I haven’t slept a lot.”

“I’ve heard you had some visitors,” he says, not looking at me and signaling instructions to some people.

They move out of his way before a woman comes to us, and he pauses our conversation.

“What would you like to eat?” he asks.

The woman stops in front of us, waiting for my answer.

“Anything will do,” I say.

He gives instructions to the woman, and the only thing registering with me is that our food is to be sent upstairs.

“We’re not spending much time out…” I murmur.

“Nope. Not tonight.”

He smiles, fueling the warmth growing in my body.

I’m high on the idea of spending time with him. I’m also happy that I’m here.

Alive.

With him.

Living dangerously makes everything more intense.

It’s been an eventful day and week. And summer.
