I look at Vito for a second before he walks away and hear him talking outside.
“Get up,” I say, pushing Joe with my gun. “You watch this guy,” I say to one of my men, who moves closer to Joe’s man. “You have the liberty to take him out for whatever you deem necessary.”
With that, Joe pushes his chair back and pivots in front of me before Vito joins us.
He ties his hands behind his back, and we all head outside.
Vito shoves Joe into the back seat of the car before I pull him to the side.
“What the hell happened?” I ask when it’s only the two of us outside.
“Louie had no idea she was gone. Everything seemed all right. She got to her room––”
I flick my hand up, cutting him off.
“Let’s go,” I say, knowing exactly what she did after that.

CARMINA
Waitingfor whatever is supposed to go down is killing me.
I thought the wait would be short.
I thought his boss or whoever else he had talked to would show up quickly.
Where the fuck is that person?
I’m stuck on this hard chair with my hands tied behind my back. My muscles are sore, and my back and neck hurt.
No one seems to care.
The two men go in and out of the kitchen.
Beau must be asleep in the other room.
He doesn’t even care to pop in.
I’m hungry and thirsty, and no one gives a shit about me, not that I expect them to.
This is crazy.
And why isn’t the person he had talked to rushing to come here?
Aren’t they anxious to see me?
If I was so important that they needed to catch me and tie my hands behind my back, why weren’t they here already?
I’m just saying.
And speaking of that…
I begin to move my hands.
For one, my arms are numb, and despite the fact that there is a bit of room to move my hands, it’s not enough to pull them out of my restraints.
That doesn’t stop me from trying.
