She pushes to her feet and looks at me with great concern.
“I need to talk to him right now.”
“His phone is here, so…” she says, looking at the man again.
“Do you have a car I could use?” I ask.
“Luigi will take you there,” she says, signaling to the man.
“Okay. Let’s go,” I say impatiently. “It’s urgent,” I toss at him.

CARMINA
We makeit to what looks like the only restaurant in the village, and he tells me to wait in the car before he climbs out and vanishes inside the place.
I have no other choice and glance at the door several times before shifting my focus to my phone.
It’s probably useless at this point, but I’m trying my aunt’s phone again. Maybe Tina is with her, and I get the chance to warn her.
Of what exactly? I don’t know. Someone is after my sister.
Beau, I suppose. Although Jen sounded strange. She could’ve said. Beau or Anthony. Or Dick Anthony.
She said he was after Tina.
Who ishe?
Who the fuck ishe?
Oh, my. I can't believe this.
My aunt answers her phone.
“Who is this?”
“Hi, Edith. It’s me. It’s a new phone,” I say in a cold, even tone. “Is everything all right? Is Tina with you by any chance?”
I try not to sound nervous, and even so, it’s hard to miss the nuance in my voice.
“Are you okay? Something happened?” she asks.
I realize she’s walking, completely unaware of anything bad that might’ve happened.
“You’re not home?”
“I met a friend, and we visited her mother. Did you call me?”
“Yes. I did,” I say quietly, concealing a sigh of desperation. “Where is Tina?” I ask as calmly as I can.
“They’re both home. They were sleeping when I left.”
“They?”
“Yes,” she says more confident. “Tina and Jen.”
My heart drops.
