“Louie is gone,” he says.

“She’s gone too.”

I straighten in my seat.

“Are they someplace together?”

“Not that I know of.”

“Who saw them?”

“I checked your suite. Carmina had used the stairs so no one could see her. Her car is gone. And Louie? He’s told one of his men he has something to take care of, and he’s been gone for a few hours.”

“He must’ve followed her.”

“You think?”

I crash back.

“I asked him to keep an eye on her but not interfere with whatever she’s doing.”
