I nod. “I better go get ready. I’ll see you later?”
“You’re damn right.”
I lean over to kiss Matthew. I’m not ready for our bubble to pop. We only have a few more weeks before I have to be back in New York to sign the closing paperwork. What’s going to happen once I’m back? Will I stay in the city? Is Des going to make me stay?
I shake my head to clear my thoughts. There’s no sense in worrying about things I can’t answer yet.
I run upstairs to get dressed for the night. I stick with casual clothes since we’re going to Donna’s Bar in Sonoma. A pair of cutoff shorts paired with a blush pink blouse and my Chucks complete my look. I leave my hair in loose waves, and with a swipe of mascara, I’m ready to go.
When I get downstairs, Ellie is pulling into the driveway to pick me up. I press a quick kiss to Matthew’s lips and say goodbye, then I’m out the door.
I’m entirely too excited about going out with the girls tonight. There have been plenty of dinners and parties with the women I model with, but this is different. None of these women are obligated to hang out with me. They had no reason to invite me tonight. They could’ve gone out by themselves, and I would’ve had no clue about it.
“Hi! Thank you for picking me up,” I say to Ellie when I get into her car.
“Of course. Do you ever drive in New York?” She pulls away from the house and heads to Sonoma.
“No. That is a jungle of metal I’d rather not get in the middle of. I can’t remember the last time I drove anywhere.”
“That is so strange to me. I would be lost without a car.” Ellie laughs.
“It’s been weird being here without one, but we’ve made it work. How are your classes going?”
“Good! I can’t believe the semester is almost over already. We’ll be gearing up for finals soon, which is freaking scary. I’ve got a couple of tests, but my other classes require me to create something epic.”
“And you’re graded on that? I’d choke on nerves if I had to do that.”
“It’s challenging, but I have to say, it’s forced me to build on my skills.”
A few minutes later, we’re pulling into the parking lot of Donna’s Bar. The log cabin-style building is a welcome sight. I’ve only been here once with Desmond after I turned twenty-one. It was around Christmas, and there were only a few people there. Des was determined to celebrate my ability to legally drink “the right way,”as he put it.
I have a feeling this will be ten times more fun.
Ellie and I walk inside to find Sara, Natalie, and a woman with long dark hair, whom I assume is Ellie’s best friend, Katie. We walk over to the table, and Ellie confirms my assumption when she introduces me to Katie.
“We took the liberty of ordering a round of margaritas.” Natalie grins. Her fiery red hair is half-pulled up in a messy bun, and her green eyes are sparkling with mischief. I have a feeling she’s going to make us drink extra to make up for her not being able to.
Sara holds up her drink. “A toast to new friends and the women who have brought my brothers to their knees.”
“Hear, hear.” Natalie lifts her iced tea. We clink our glasses together with a laugh.
“Okay, time to spill, you two. What’s it like to have sex with Westlake’s hottest bachelors?” Katie’s grin is maniacal.
“No! We are not talking about this.” Sara groans.
“They might act like my brothers, but they definitely are not, and I’ve been dying to know if they’re as well hung as I suspect.” Natalie waggles her eyebrows.
Sara slaps her hands over her ears, making us laugh.
I raise an eyebrow at Ellie, and she grins. We look back at the girls. “Huge,” Ellie and I say at the same time.
“I knew it!” Natalie slaps her hand on the table.
“You lucky bitches,” Katie teases.
That sets off another round of giggles, and Natalie and Katie start peppering us with questions. We don’t answer most of them. But the few we do make me blush. I can’t help but brag about how I’ve never come as hard as I do with Matthew. Ellie agrees that Adam shares the same skill.
“Do you think they shared notes?” Katie asks.
