“One of the many reasons I don’t tell people,” he grumbles.

“I’m going to get your mom to show me pictures the next time I’m over there.”

“Absolutely not. I will spank you if you do.”

“Not a good enough threat.” I raise my eyebrow.

“Fuck.” Matthew’s eyes heat. “You really are a dirty girl.”

I wink at him. I can’t help that my tastes lean toward the kinky. I blame the romance novels I read. Soft and sweet doesn’t quite do it for me now. “You’ve seen what I read. You should know better.”

“Which one got you going the most?”

“Of the ones we’ve both read?”

Matthew nods.

“The one where she dates her ex’s dad.”

I grin at his widening eyes. He leans closer to me across the table. “That one was my favorite, too.”

Lust sinks through my stomach, landing hard in my clit, making it throb.

Our waiter walks by our table, and Matthew stops him. “Can we get our dessert to go, please?”

“Of course, sir.” He tips his head and heads back to the kitchen.

“The drive home is going to suck,” I say. It’s going to feel like hours with all this pent-up tension between us.

“It’s a good thing we don’t have to drive that far tonight.” Matthew’s grin is sly.

I narrow my eyes. “What do you mean?”

“I might’ve booked a hotel room so we didn’t have to drive back to Westlake tonight.”

“You’re a genius.”

He shrugs. “Sometimes. I also asked Adan and Ellie to check on Sergio while we’re gone.”

The waiter comes over with both our desserts and our check. Matthew pays, and we’re leaving the restaurant in minutes. His arm is wrapped around my waist, his hand possessively holding my hip. It sends tingles through my body. I’m beyond ready to know what it feels like to have this man surrounding my body with his.

This past week, we’ve been driving each other crazy. We haven’t done anything more than some heavy petting, and if he hadn’t told me we were going to a hotel tonight, I’m pretty sure I would’ve jumped him the second we got home, no matter how tired I was. I’m not sure why we haven’t done anything more physical than the one orgasm he gave me last week. It’s as if we’ve both been trying to build the anticipation, and tonight, our teasing has finally come to a head.

Matthew drives us across Greensboro, pulling into a swanky hotel called the Palermo. He grabs out a small suitcase I had no idea was in the car and checks in at the front desk. I’m too busy marveling at all the gold accents and polished white marble in the lobby. It’s gorgeous.

“Ready?” Matthew asks, making me turn toward him. The way he’s looking at me tells me he’s talking about more than just being ready to go up to the room.

“More than.” I hook my arm through his and walk toward the elevator. My nerves are back, buzzing through me like a swarm of bees. I don’t want to disappoint him. It’s been too long since I’ve had sex. What if I don’t meet his expectations?

Matthew leads me toward the door to our room, swiping the card with efficiency. The second the door clicks shut, he pushes me against it, kissing the hell out of me.

“Fuck, pretty girl. You’re more than any dream I’ve ever had, and I haven’t even had you yet.” When Matthew’s lips press against mine, my brain blips out, and I’m no longer thinking about anything other than how it feels to have him kissing me like his life depends on it.

CHAPTER19

Matthew

Idon’t think my pulse has ever raced this fast. There’s something about Tilly that sends me into overdrive. Just watching her come on my fingers was enough to have me almost coming in my pants.
