Then she tightened her legs, pulling him inside her.

He growled again, gripping her thighs tightly, holding her in place once he was deep inside her. “Nylah…”

She touched her lips to his ear. “Take me, Liam. I’m yours.”

It was as if her words flicked a switch. One more of those deep growls beat through the room, and he began to thrust…long, slow thrusts that took her right to the brink.

His mouth crashed back to hers, and she lost herself in him. In the taste of his tongue. The feel of him inside her, filling her so completely. She allowed this moment to become her entire world.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, her fingers sweeping through his hair. When he reached for her nipple and began to roll it between his thumb and forefinger, she wanted to crumble. To break for him.

He whipped them around and moved to the bed, where he placed Nylah on her back. Liam’s feet were on the floor and her legs remained locked around him, keeping him bent at the waist. He drove into her faster. Harder.

Her breaths shortened, her lower abdomen throbbing.

His thumb ran over her nipple again, and he nipped her bottom lip with his teeth. That broke her. She let herself shatter, trusting this man to put her back together later.

Her cry was so loud it echoed throughout the room.

Then Liam groaned, the noise rivaling her own, and she felt him tense above her, continuing to drive into her until finally his body shuddered, and he broke right along with her.

Then, there was stillness.

She sucked in deep breaths, reminding herself to breathe. To allow the air to flow in and out of her lungs.

That had been… God, she didn’t even know how to describe it. There were no words.

He lifted his head and looked at her like she wasit. Like she was all he needed, and together they had everything. “I’m going to show you how much I love you every damn day, Nylah Walker.”

Then he kissed her again, and she let herself fall, without hesitation, without fear.

Fall into Liam.

CHAPTER23

“His eyes were a bit more almond-shaped,” Nylah said, tilting her head to study the sketch from a new angle.

Emerson nodded and moved the pencil over the paper. She sketched quickly but with ease, like she’d done it a thousand times before. They sat in Liam’s office in the Blue Halo Security building while some of the guys were in a meeting in the conference room.

She hadn’t spent much time with Emerson before today, but just like the other women who were partnered with the Blue Halo guys, she was friendly and easy to talk to. And so talented. She’d already sketched the mouth and a million little details of the face. The shadowing and lines she added made the image look incredibly real.

“Are you doing okay with this?” Emerson asked quietly, her hand continuing to move. “If watching this guy come to life on paper is too much, please tell me.”

Nylah shook her head. “It’s not too much. It feels good that I might be able to help the guys in a small way.”

No, she definitely didn’t feel fear. If anything, she felt anger. That this man might be the leader of their sick organization. That he might be responsible for everything that had taken place up to now, including the target on her head.

“I feel awful that I didn’t mention it earlier,” she added quietly, the words slipping into the air.

Emerson stopped and looked up, already shaking her head before Nylah finished speaking. “Don’t. That cop told you he’d already been killed, so you thought the information wasn’t important. That wasn’t your fault.”

She swallowed. She knew it was true. But, still, there was guilt there. That she’d had this guy’s description the entire time and hadn’t given it to anyone.

“Hopefully,” Emerson said quietly, as she turned back to the sketch and continued to bring the eyes to life, “Callum or the FBI can run this sketch through whatever fancy system they have and find a match.”

“I really hope so. I hope they find this guy, confirm he’s Hawk and put an end to all this.”

Emerson nodded. “That would be good. I hate all the attacks that have already taken place. The men have had a lot of enemies to fight over the last few years, but this feels different. This feels…”
