He took more steps. Slow, controlled movements, eliminating the distance between them.

“Are you sure?” When he finally reached her, he slid an arm around her waist and lowered his head so that his mouth almost touched her ear. “I can be very persuasive.”

A shudder rolled down her spine.

He pressed a light kiss to her exposed shoulder, his lips barely brushing the skin. The gasp of air slipping from her lips was loud. Then he kissed her again, this time on the neck.

“Liam…” His name was so quiet it was barely a whisper.

He dropped three more kisses onto her skin, exploring her. Familiarizing himself. She tilted her head to give him more access. As he trailed his mouth toward her lips, she didn’t speak. In fact, he was almost sure she wasn’t breathing.

He kissed the corner of her mouth. “I’ll worry about you all night.”

“You don’t need to worry about me.”

He wasn’t sure this woman understoodwhathe needed.

He lifted his head, just a fraction, to see her eyes darken.

Then she quickly lifted to her toes and crashed her lips to his in an explosive kiss.

He grabbed her hips, tugging her against him, and she melted. Her limbs softening. Her fingers sliding to the back of his head and sweeping through his hair.

When her lips parted, he took advantage, slipping his tongue between them and tasting her. She groaned, and that noise sliced through the quiet, tangling itself inside him.

In one swift move, he lifted her into his arms, turned, and pressed her against the wall. The feel of their bodies flush together, the contrast of her soft to his hard, was intoxicating. Made him feel like he was drunk on her.

He gripped her hips, then shifted a hand up slowly, lifting her shirt as he went. Her heart took off in a gallop. He eased his hand a little farther, cupping her breast. Her whimper had his cock hardening. Her nipple pushed into his palm, causing blood to roar between his ears.

She groaned and arched, pressing herself into him. He squeezed her soft mound, swallowing every little moan.

He found her nipple, rolling it between his thumb and forefinger.

Nylah pulled her mouth from his and threw her head back, a cry falling from her lips. He lowered his head and wrapped his lips around her nipple through the thin bra.

She grabbed the back of his head, pulling at the strands of his hair as his tongue swirled over the hard bud.

He was just shifting to her other side when a bang sounded outside.

Immediately, he wrenched his head up. He would have moved back, but she cupped his cheek, tightening her thighs around him.

“It’s just the neighbor above me. His engine makes a loud backfiring noise when he turns the car off.” She swallowed, collecting herself. “But we should stop before…”

Before they got so lost in each other they couldn’t find their way out. She didn’t need to finish that sentence for both of them to know.

She tugged her top down, then touched her forehead to his, her words quiet. “I promise you, if something happens, I’ll call. I just need some time to be on my own. To date you without us being in each other’s space.”

“Date me?”

She swallowed, her gaze shifting between his eyes. “Well, it appears I can’t stop kissing you, so I think we’re past friends.”

Oh, they’d skipped friends altogether. “You call at any small noise. Okay? And I’ll be here within minutes.”

“I know you will.”

CHAPTER11

“One steaming cup of coffee,” Nylah said, pushing a mug across the counter.
