We’d grown so close that when Bowers was promoted, and offered Boone a position with him, I was distraught at the prospect of Flora not being with me any longer. While I’d come to know and love the other wives or girlfriends, it wasn’t the same.
Carson had been contemplating a change as his fortieth birthday was a few years away at the time, and saw this as the opportunity to make it. He’d discussed his options with Bowers, then me and we’d figured out which made him happiest.
To him, that was whatever made me happiest.
Thankfully, they were one and the same.
I’d never do anything to force him to make a choice he wasn’t comfortable with and vice versa.
Even better was that Flora helped make our move easier by looking at the houses in their new area we’d narrowed it down to and letting us know her thoughts on each. Since she and I think eerily alike, our husbands declaring we share a brain, it allowed us to quickly make the list even smaller. Our favorite came with the perk of being directly behind Boone and Flora’s residence.
Showing just how in sync Boone and Flora are with me and Carson?
Flora and I were pregnant at the same time. Their son, Jamie, is the same age as David, with mere months separating them in Jamie’s favor. As for our daughters, Leslie was born two weeks before Ruthann.
We’re celebrating our Christmas with them tonight since we’ll be with Carson’s family on the actual day and they’ll be with Flora’s.
I can’t wait for them to get here, for our godson and goddaughter to open their presents from us.
“So do I, Angel,” my husband agrees. “So do I.”
**Carson**
Fact number one hundred about my wife.
She’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
