We stood face to face. Two years had gone by, and I had forgotten that she was short. She was lifting her eyes to look at me. As I stared at those lips, I recalled the night we had spent together in Chicago.

The brown dress clung to curves I hadn't noticed two years ago, showing just enough while leaving the rest to the imagination. The subtle V-neck revealed a hint of cleavage, just enough to add sensual allure to her look. I could feel the erectile awakening in my pants.

Four types of nitrogenous bases in DNA: adenine (A), thymine (T), cytosine (C), and guanine (G).

To avoid embarrassing myself, I had to remind myself of the bases in DNA.

"You haven't said anything," I noted as the silence stretched on.

She was also staring at me, probably checking how much I had changed over the period of time she hadn't seen me.

"You look stunning," she praised, stretching her hand toward me, an attempt to touch me. I didn't turn her down, even pushing myself toward her to aid the process.

She stopped halfway, "Wait…you're the boss I'm supposed to meet for the interview?"

Why choose now to return to reality?

"That would be the case," I responded.

"Oh," nervousness taking over her being. "This is awkward."

"No, it's not," I assured her. "I'm really glad to see you after all these years."

"You make it sound like it's been longer," she chuckled softly.

"It's been ten years already," I teased.

She smiled.

"I never did get to know your name," I said, offering my hand. "I'm Lucas Hills." "I'm Olivia Sinclair," she accepted my hand. "So when can we start the interview?" "You don't need an interview," I assured her. "You'll be my secretary starting from today."

"You have appointments for seven, twelve, and two today," Olivia informed me the moment I stepped into my office. "The pharmacy has provided the list of drugs to be restocked on, and the maintenance crew will swing by in the evening to check on the machines. It's also your turn to supervise the children's ward."

She handed me the notepad, where she had detailed everything she had told me.

"You've been here for only a week, and you're already making things this easy for me," I remarked. "If you had told me you were this skilled when we met at the bar, I would have dragged you with me."

"Thank you," I muttered, smiling. "I was still in a…dark corner, so I don't think I would have been willing to follow along."

"And yet here you are." I held her chin and lifted her face slightly. Her eyes still drew me in like they did when we first met.

"I should get back to work," she said as she gently removed my hand from her chin. Taking the notepad, I remarked, "I'll forward it.”

It hurt.

"Is everything alright?" I asked as she reviewed the notes.

"No, it's nothing," she said.

She was avoiding me. Ever since she had started working for me, I noticed it. She would be close for one moment, and I'd be moved away the next. How dare she?

"Tell me," I commanded. I held her hand and forced her to face me.
