“Such a smooth talker,” she mocked and grinned. “What the hell, we can be official.”

“If anything ever happens, I want you to tell me,” I said. “I know you're a very strong woman, but if you aren't strong enough to accept a problem after you've tried your best, please talk to me.”

The moment I said that, her shoulders dropped, and her gaze drifted off into the distance. There was something on her mind.

“Is there something you want to talk to me about?” I asked.

“No it's nothing,” she said. “I guess I'm finally trying to get used to all of this.”

“I will make sure you get used to it properly without having to worry about a single thing,” I assured her.

“You always offer a shoulder for me,” she commended. “Thank you, Lucas.”

“You don't have to thank me. It's what a boyfriend should do,” I affirmed.

“Well then thank you, mister boyfriend,” she teased.

I didn't know what was bothering her, but I decided to give her a little time. With the way things had gotten between us, it wouldn't take long for her to open up and tell me about her worries.

“Are you ready?” Lucas asked as he offered me his hand. “We'll be going in together.”

It was the next day after we had decided to take things seriously. I held his hand and he stared at it for a few seconds. Both of us blushed and let go of each other.

“Maybe holding hands a bit too much,” he laughed nervously. “God, what am I, a ten year old?”

“Considering that this is your first relationship, I think your reaction can be accounted for,” I assured him. “You don't have to worry about it.”

“If you're the expert, how come you got embarrassed too?” he asked.

“That's because I'm a girl; we naturally get embarrassed over the slightest things,” I defended by playing the girly card.

“And the man is supposed to take charge.”

“Thank you for understanding,” I said with a bow.

“Alright then,” he shrugged. He held my chin and kissed my lips. “Have a great day at work.”

He walked into the hospital, and I was left outside, covering my mouth in shock. Some of the staff were in shock as well. Smiles had formed on their faces.

I'm going to kill him.

As I stepped through the hospital doors, all eyes fell upon me.

“There she is.”

“Oh, my God. I can't believe they are official.”

“I always knew they were both up to something.”

“Did you see the kiss?”

“Look, she's still red.”

“So, is the boss into smart, hardworking girls?”

“Duh? What did you think he'd be into? You?”
