“Nope,” she says, popping thep, trying to rile me up on purpose.
“Don’t sass me. Leftnow.”
She bites her lip, and I know my gruff tone turns her on. It’s the reason she did it, but I can’t focus on that now. For as much as I’d love to demand she pull over so I can take her in the back of the car, in the middle of downtown San Francisco, I have other ideas.
She obediently follows my directions as we continue on. As long as I’m firm. If I say please or thank you, she turns a different way to piss me off. And fuck, does it turnmeon. I’m just about ready to abandon my plans completely when the street I need comes into view.
“Left here and hurry up.”
“Yes sir,” she says with a nod of her head, andfuck me.
Not long now, Jesse. You can do it.
“And stop.”
Willow pulls to the curb and slams on the brakes, turning to me in her seat. “They don’t sell wine here, Jesse,” she says with a raised eyebrow.
“No, they don’t. I’m just fulfilling our bet.”
Her brow furrows as she runs through some of the other bets we’ve made. I’m sure the thought of me buying her a house never crosses her mind. “We already did the public sex thing,” she says after a beat.
“Oh, I know. And God was it hot. But that’s not what we're doing here.”
“Jesse.”
“Look left.”
Willow turns to look out her window, and her eyes lock on the house I want to buy her. Well, the garage anyway—she’d have to look up to see the rest. It’s tall and skinny. “You didn’t,” she says with a soft tone.
“No, I didn’t,” I confirm and she relaxes. “But this houseisfor sale, and I’ve booked a tour for us tomorrow.”
“What?” Her voice comes out screechy, but with the way her eyes are lighting up, I’m going to guess the “what?” is a good thing. “You want us to move into a house?”
“Don’t you?”
“Well, yes. But it’s a big step.”
“We don’t have to fill it with babies yet, but it does have plenty of space for an officeanda workshop. Plus—”
Willow gawks at me, making me chuckle. “Back up. Back up. You’re talking babies now? Who the hell are you?”
My laughter continues as she stares at me like I’m a stranger—a stranger that she happens to find very attractive judging by the heat in her eyes. But I have one more surprise.
“The house itself isn’t even the best part. Can you drive forward a little? There’s an empty block up ahead.”
Willow does as I asked, and when she turns her head she gasps.
“That’s the view from the back balcony. And I’ve been assured that because of the direction we’re facing, you’ll get to see the sunriseandsunset.”
Willow’s eyes glisten with emotion. “So, we didn’t stop here for sex?” she asks after a beat, making me laugh again.
“It wasn’t my intention, but…” I trail off and she unbuckles her seatbelt before reaching down to hitch up her dress.Fuck, this is happening.
I slide back my chair and unbuckle my own belt, pulling down my zipper just as she awkwardly springs across the center console, straddling my legs when she lands.
“Hi,” she says when we’re face-to-face, forced closer by the tight space.
“God, I love you,” I say in response, not wasting any time in taking her lips, my hands snaking under her dress.
