“Calm down, love. Like I said, it was unfortunate… and a century ago,” he said, grinning at my outburst.

His words calmed me down, barely…

He sobered up and continued the discussion carefully.

“However, with your parents deceased for years now, you have no living family for you to live with safely.”

A pang of sadness shot through me at the mention of my parents. I was so young when I lost them that I could barely hold on to their memories. All I knew was living in various omega homes for as long as I could remember.

“… Turning you out onto the street on your own would be like handing you a death sentence,” Roman continued on.

His words snapped me out of my trip down memory lane.

“Hold on, I wouldn’t mind living out on my own with the humans,” I said hopefully.

He was already shaking his head before I could get the full sentence out.

“Absolutely not. Omegas are way too vulnerable to be living on their own without a pack or alpha community to support them.”

Waves of hopelessness and despair washed over me. No matter at which angle I looked at it, I was completely screwed. The damn tears filled my eyes, and I furiously rubbed at them, not wanting to show weakness in front of the hot alpha.

I looked at the tiny omega sitting across from me, and my heart ached for her. She was trying so hard to put up a brave front, but I could see she was about to break down.

Her little hands kept on tugging the end of her skimpy dress, trying to cover more of her beautiful, voluptuous thighs. And I had never seen an omega quite as curvy as her.

She was thick in all the right places, and I nearly came in my pants when she sat down slowly in the chair. The dress pulled tight around her hips, and I could make out every line and curve of her beautiful body.

How she wasn’t mated yet was a mystery I could never understand.

She shivered and hugged herself, trying to warm herself as best she could. The sight of her in distress brought me to action.

I jumped up and offered her my coat to wrap herself around in until I could find her more suitable clothes.

“Enough talking for one night. I’m going to take you back to my house until we can figure out a decent plan for your future.” I said firmly, tucking in the coat around her.

She opened her mouth to protest, but instead, a giant yawn came out. She squeaked in surprise and clapped her hand over her mouth. She peered at me in horror with her giant blue eyes, and I couldn’t help but let out a laugh. She really was the cutest omega I ever saw.

“Look, I can’t just stay in your house. I barely know you! Can’t I just continue to stay in the omega nest until we figure out what to do?” She said, finding her voice.

“No can do, sweetheart. It’s against the rules for you to stay here any longer. Now, let’s get going before the night gets any darker.”

“Fine,” she grumbled cutely, but I could tell she was relieved to have a temporary solution to her current predicament.

I strode out into the hallway and spied Wesley’s body twitching in the hall.

So, the slimy weasel was still alive then.

I made a quick phone call to the alpha law enforcement to have them drag him to the district jail and be dealt with properly.

I would much rather just snap his neck and be done with it, but I didn’t want to break the gentle omega’s trust in me.

I glanced over at her, and my heart wrenched at how vulnerable she looked in my oversized coat. I could see the lines of worry etched on her face, and I wanted nothing more than to soothe her fears.

We arrived at a beautiful home in a part of the city I had never seen before. Omegas rarely get to go out much, but I could tell this was the fancy side of town. As we walked up the massive driveway, we were met at the elegant front door by two more alphas.
