“A person who looks like a literal golden angel should act like one, too,” she ranted on, her tears turning into anger.

Stone handed her a tissue, and she dabbed at her eyes, glaring at us.

“How could you guys live under such a tyrant?” She asked me bluntly.

Her heart was clearly broken, and I tried my best to navigate the situation with care.

“Roman is…. damaged,” I said hesitantly. “He’s been through shit.” That was the most diplomatic answer I could think of.

“It does not excuse his atrocious behavior,” Stone grunted out.

“What do you mean damaged?” Gabriella asked, her brow furrowing in confusion.

Stone and I exchanged glances over her head, and he nodded at me.

I let out a long sigh and told her the gruesome story of how he lost his previous pack.

“An alpha usually doesn’t live long after he loses his entire pack. They usually end up killing themselves, and it’s a miracle that he held on long enough to form a second pack. But Stone is right. His actions were not worthy of an omega like yourself.”

I hung my head in apology for my alpha's actions.

Gabriella’s eyes softened, and she touched my face gently.

“Hey, thanks for explaining about Roman. It’s not your fault. I’m just not ready to see him. Like ever.”

“Well…,” I replied hesitantly.

“What?” She asked, furrowing her brow again.

“You might have to, love. Stone and I will do our best to get you through your heat, but you will need our entire pack’s knots, especially our alpha.”

Her body tensed up underneath me, and she tried pushing me away even though we were knotted together.

“I’d rather die through my heat than look at him again,” she said angrily.

Stone rubbed her shoulders, trying to soothe her, but she shook him off, her irritation growing.

I frowned at her behavior. I understood that she was upset, but from what I’ve seen from her before, she was usually a level-headed omega.

Then it hit me.

“When was the last time you ate, baby?” I asked her, shame burning in my gut.

“Umm… probably last night’s pasta. Today was so fucking dramatic,” she replied grumpily.

She was hangry.

I wanted to kick myself. We were all so caught up with what to do we forgot to feed her. Stone had already shot up and was out the door, racing to grab a plate.

I glanced down at her curvy body. We couldn’t afford to lose a single ounce of her curves because we couldn’t feed her properly.

Our omega clearly enjoyed and relished food, and I would be damned if I ever forgot a meal for her ever again.

“So, what’s going to happen now?” She asked me softly.

“Well, now we’re going to make sure our omega eats whatever her heart desires,” I said with a smile, hoping to lighten the mood.

She chewed on her full bottom lip for a second.
