“Well, I know of a few alpha packs who are also not eligible to participate in the outings due to petty crimes,” I said. “They would be more than happy with an omega like Gabriella.”
“So you want to mate her off to a pack of criminals,” Chase stated coldly, looking at me with thinly veiled disgust.
“Not criminals,” I snapped back. “These are just alphas who have one too many tax errors or speeding tickets. Like I said, petty crimes.”
Stone wisely stayed quiet, not wanting to challenge my authority. Chase, on the other hand, had no such reservations.
His hands clenched into fists, and I could see a vein throbbing on his forehead.
“Petty crimes highlight the fact that they are irresponsible alphas and unfit to care for a precious omega properly. They could miss a couple of doctor appointments, and Gabriella would wound up dead,” he snarled out.
He was right, but I couldn’t admit that out loud. Instead, I stared him down, throwing my alpha energy behind my gaze.
He lowered his tone and hissed at me, "But you don’t care about that, do you? God, you’re fucking pathetic.”
Before I had a chance to react, he got up and left the room, slamming the door with a shuddering bang.
Stone and I sat there in uncomfortable silence.
“Look, boss, I agree with Chase. But you’re the top alpha for a reason, so I’ll follow your lead wherever it takes us. But I do think you're making a mistake. In my experience, omegas like Gabriella only show up once in a lifetime,” he said solemnly.
My brows raised in shock. That was the longest string of sentences I had heard from the big guy. Stone wasn’t huge on words.
That means he must really believe the conviction behind his sentiment.
Damn, Gabriella really did a number on my pack. And she had only stayed for one night.
Stone quietly got up and left, following Chase’s lead, minus the slamming door.
Left alone with my thoughts, I felt an uneasy churning in my gut at the thought of giving away Gabriella. I tried my best to shove down that feeling.
I tried to convince myself that this was the best solution for everyone involved. To be honest, I wasn’t at all comfortable with this plan, but I could see no other way forward.
Now, all that was left was informing Gabriella of the plan. My gut churned some more.
Gabriella
I woke up feeling disoriented.
I expected to hear the normal chatter of the other omegas around me, but instead, I awoke to silence.
It took a minute to get my bearings, but I gasped as the memories of last night returned to me. I sat up slowly in the pink bed, aware of a throbbing pain in my thigh.
But that throbbing was nothing compared to the ache between my legs. I was drenched in slick, and I could feel a soft cramping in my belly. I felt so empty down there, and I craved something, anything, to ease that feeling.
That worried me.
I had days, as a single omega, where I was more aroused than usual, but never to this extent. I was going to have to get my hands on some heat suppressant pills, just in case.
I didn’t have any on me, and it would be a disaster to go into heat with all of these super hot alphas around me. I shuddered in embarrassment to think of what would happen if they had to knot me in pity.
God, I could just imagine their disgust.
No, that wasn’t going to happen, and I probably wasn’t even in true heat anyway.
But tonight, I would search the house for the pills while everyone was asleep. I’m sure Roman, as important as he was, would have a couple of bottles in his office or something.
I didn’t dare ask outright for them. It was embarrassing enough already being horny around them, let alone a full-blown heat.
