He lowers his lips to my ear, his voice rough. "I'm never too tired for what I think you have in mind."
We finally make it to our stop, and I help Quinn haul his luggage up to the apartment, finding the door unlocked. Sophia—who's been watching Stanley—is waiting inside, just packing up her own stuff as the cat trots around her ankles. His attention is completely diverted when we walk in, though, and I think Quinn is a little annoyed that he comes straight to me. I pick him up and bury my face in his fluffy orange fur, his purr practically rattling through me.
"I missed you, Stan," I murmur as Quinn thanks Sophia and heads to put his stuff in his room.
Sophia taps me on the shoulder. "Didn't necessarily expect to see you here, Sterling," she says. "Are you two...?"
"Yeah," I nod. "It's official now. Guess I haven't seen you since the night I tried to kiss him..."
"You sure haven't," Sophia says with a smirk. "Well—I'm happy for you. Quinn is a good guy."
"I know he is," I say. "I'll see you at the club soon."
"I sure hope so," she says. "Well...you can give him his key, I guess. I've got a shift at the White Oak, so I've got to run."
"Totally understood. Thanks, Sophia."
Sophia takes off, and then we're finally, blissfully, actually alone. Quinn comes out of his room and shrugs off his coat to hang it in the hall closet, looking toward the door. "Did she already leave?"
"Yeah," I say. "She gave me your key…"
"Keep it."
I look into his eyes from down the hall, my brow furrowed. "Are you sure...?"
Quinn walks slowly toward me, and I set Stanley down, knowing what comes next. There will be time to pet the cat later...and I have other priorities as Quinn comes in close and puts his hands on my face, his thumbs gliding over my cheekbones.
"I've never been more sure of anything," he says. "I don't want to spend one more night without you in my bed."
I gulp, feeling my heart race with anticipation. "Then don't," I whisper, my voice barely audible as he leans in and presses his lips to mine. It's a slow, deep kiss, the kind that makes my toes curl and my body ache with longing. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to deepen the kiss, and he responds eagerly, his hands slipping down to my waist to pull me flush against him.
Quinn breaks the kiss and looks down at me, his eyes smoldering with desire. "God, I've missed you," he says, his voice low and husky.
"I've missed you too," I reply, my voice breathy with desire.
My heart races as he leans in to kiss me again, his hands sliding down my neck and over my back, lower to grip my ass. I moan softly into his mouth, my hands reaching up to tangle in his silver-black hair as I pull him closer. I can feel the heat between us growing, and I know that I want him more than anything else in the world.
Quinn breaks the kiss and pulls back, his eyes dark with desire. "Come to bed with me, Madison," he whispers, his breath hot on my neck. "I want to make love to you. Fuck...I need it at this point."
I nod, unable to speak, as he takes my hand and leads me to his room. The bed is unmade, the sheets a mess from his quick exit when he left for the airport last, but I don't care. They smell like him, like us, and a thrill of possessiveness goes through me at that thought.
Quinn starts undressing me, his hands moving over my body like he's memorizing every inch of me. I do the same to him, taking off his clothes piece by piece, starting with his glasses and ending with his boxers, as I take in every hard line of his body. When we're finally both naked, he leans in to kiss me again, his cock swollen and hard against my belly. He runs his hands over my body, letting out a deep, throaty moan as my breasts brush against his chest.
I wrap my arms around him as he slides me back onto the bed, his hands trailing down my body, taking in every inch of me.
"I couldn't stay there without you," he says, his voice ragged as he leans in to kiss me again. "God, I fucking missed you."
I sigh into the kiss, the electricity between us a stark contrast to the loneliness of the past few weeks. I grab his hand and bring it to my lips, pausing to meet his eyes.
"I'll go with you next time," I whisper. "Anywhere you need me, I'll go."
"You don't have to—"
"Stop saying I don't have to," I shake my head. "I know I don't have to. I want to...because we're going to take care of each other from now on. I love you, Quinn. I love you..."
He interrupts me with a kiss, breathing the words back into my lungs, exchanging love, love, love...
The next time we come up for air, he's leaning over me, his weight on his elbow as he gazes down at me, his face inches from mine. "I love you, too," he whispers. "I'm never going to leave you, Madison. I promise."
