Rebecca just snickered. “Hey, Jack started it.”
“And you had to follow his lead?”
“Well, yeah,” Rebecca said and laughed when Sadie cursed. “You have to admit it was the perfect solution. Nikki went home with barely a fuss.”
“Except now I have to do a demo with Resting Dick Face.”
Rebecca choked. “You’ve got to stop calling him that.”
“Why?”
“Because he’s going to find out.”
Sadie wanted to scrub her hands over her face, but she didn’t want to wreck her makeup. “So?”
“So, it’s not a good idea to piss off the Dom you’re about to play with.”
“I am notplayingwith Jack. Being a stunt bottom for a demo is not playing. It’s…acting,” she decided.
“Uh-huh. Acting. Tell me, do you subscribe to the method school?”
“Oh, shut up,” Sadie muttered and pushed to her feet. “I’ll be right back.”
“Where are you going?”
“I didn’t bring my play bag with me, so I need to get a couple of things.”
“Um, Jack told you to stay put.”
That made her laugh out loud. “I’ll be right back.”
She walked away on Rebecca’s squeak of dismay—serves her right, the traitor—and headed to the bar. The line was even longer now, people scrambling for drinks before the next round of demos started, but she pushed past it without a qualm and leaned over to get Olivia’s attention.
“Sadie, you can’t jump the line,” she admonished, and shot a look over her shoulder where Cade was scooping ice into a glass. “You’re going to get me in trouble.”
“I’m not here for a drink. Do you have any emergency aftercare kits left, or are they all gone?”
Olivia scooped a cupful of frozen pineapple out of a bag and dumped it into a blender. “We still have some. Why, do you have a crashing submissive on your hands or something?”
“No, it’s for me.”
Olivia set the blender to whirring, her eyes brightening with interest. “Did you find someone you want to play with?”
“I’m doing Jack’s demo.”
Olivia blinked, and the blender ground to a stop. “You’re what?”
“Nikki’s hurt, so she can’t do it, and somehow I ended up agreeing to fill in.”
“How the hell did that happen?”
“I’ll let you know when I figure it out,” Sadie muttered under her breath.
A shout from Cade on the other side of the bar made Olivia jump. “Shit. Don’t go anywhere,” she told Sadie, quickly pouring the contents of the blender into the cups she had lined up and waiting. She garnished the mocktails with slices of fruit, laid them out on the bar for waiting customers, then began shoveling ice and frozen fruit into the blender again. “Okay. What exactly happened?”
“That’s a much longer conversation than we have time for.” Sadie glanced behind her, noting that while Jack hadn’t returned yet, Rebecca was getting agitated. “Get your ass back here,”she mouthed, and Sadie rolled her eyes. “Listen, I’ll fill you in later, but I need the aftercare kit now.”
Olivia reached under the counter. “Do you want nuts or chocolate?”
