Lifting the pillow, I peeked a glower at Julien over my shoulder when he smacked my blanket-covered ass.
“That’s what you said five minutes ago. And five minutes before that. Up. Come on, sleeping beauty.”
He ripped off the sheet. I was buck-naked. Still didn’t make a move to get up… until I smelled the enticing aroma of coffee. I opened one eye and saw a tray sitting on the nightstand, steam rising from a mug, an alluring mountain of fluffy, scrambled eggs, and one single black-eyed Susan.
“You made me breakfast in bed?”
He bent over and playfully bit my ass cheek. “I did.”
“Did Ryder help?” I teased.
“No, smartass.”
Sitting up, I reclined against the headboard. Julien picked up the two coffee mugs from the tray and handed me one. The heat warmed my hands as I held it.
He twirled the sunny wildflower between his fingers, then ran it over the downy hair of my bare chest.
“Found some of these growing alongside the road.” He bounced the blossom of the flower on the head of my dick. “I can take care of that.”
I looked down at my morning wood, proud and erect.
“Need coffee first. Someone kept me up all night.”
His bark of laughter was the sweetest music. “Coffee over a blow job? I’ll need to up my game.”
Taking a tentative sip to test the temperature, I replied, “Babe, you know you rock my world, every time. I’ve got the love marks and sore muscles to prove it.”
My torso and upper thighs were covered in hickeys. Who knew what the back of me looked like. Seeing the evidence of our lovemaking made me stupidly giddy.
His mouth pursed sideways as he took in his handiwork. “I may have overdone it.”
Shaking my head, I leaned to the side to kiss him. “I love them. I don’t care if I look like a cheetah.”
I had passed out around four in the morning, the same time he got up to go for a run since we had an eight-a.m. class. How he was able to function without any sleep was beyond my comprehension, especially after playing a hard-won soccer match. It would be a miracle if I didn’t snooze all during Calc II.
“What time is it?”
“Seven.”
I groaned. At least I didn’t need to take a shower since Julien and I took one together last night, among other things. I would need to borrow some of his clothes, though.
Maybe I could catch a short nap after I stopped by the pool complex. Part of the application required that I provide my CPR and lifeguard certifications. I was planning to drop by after calculus since Julien had a full day, and I wouldn’t see him again until later that night since our class schedules conflicted and he had practice later that afternoon. He had warned me that Sundays would be the only day he’d be completely free until the soccer season ended.
“Want to talk about your mom and the wedding?”
Since I refused to give up the coffee mug, he fed me bites of egg.
There was an old joke about denial being a river in Egypt. I was happy to sail those waters for the time being.
I finished chewing. “Not really. I was thinking about going home soon, maybe a day trip on Sunday. Talk to Dad. He texted me but I kind of tabled the conversation.”
He finished off the eggs on the plate. “Want some company?”
A lovely warmth spread through me. “I’d like that.”
“We can take the truck. Mind if Jay or Ry tag along?”
I accepted a bite of toast from him. “Fine with me.”
