As Lamar and Shawn devolved into a wrestling match over Yo’s honor, David sidled up next to me and leaned back against the small kitchen island.
“Thanks for helping out today.”
I bumped his shoulder. “No problem.”
“You want to hang, or do you need to get back? I cook a mean omelet if you’re hungry.”
Julien and I stayed in bed this morning because… well, we were busy fucking. He was planning on going for a run after I left to come here. Ryder and Jayson had still been asleep.
“Let me text Julien and see if he’s back.”
Just as I unlocked my phone, it vibrated, and Julien’s name popped up.
“Hey, babe. I was just about—”
“I need you…”
It was hard to understand him because it sounded like he was crying.
“I can hardly hear you. Are you okay?”
“I need you… to come to the condo. Now.”
David’s brow furrowed when he heard Julien’s voice boom through the phone’s speaker cradled to my ear.
Worry and concern snaked their way in. “What’s going on?”
It felt like a lifetime before he answered.
“She’s back. Liz came back. She’s here.”
She’s back. Two words that shattered my world apart. The moment I had been hoping for and terrified of at the same time had arrived.
Liz was back.
And I knew things would never be the same again.
“Love worth having was love you fought for. Bled for. Hurt for.”

Sneak Peek at Forever Mine
Julien’s POV
“I can take a personal day off work and come to lunch with you and Liz if you want.”
Holding the phone to my ear with my shoulder, I finished draining the corkscrew pasta. One of Liz’s favorite dishes was pesto pasta with pine nuts and black olives. So that was what I was making her for lunch.
“I hope you don’t mind, but I want to spend some time with her alone. Last night was a bit crazy with all of us. I think we overwhelmed her.”
The guys and I told our families about Liz over a video call earlier that morning. We spent the first hour explaining everything we knew so far, the next thirty minutes crying together, and then another hour convincing them not to come. They were desperate to see her, but she needed time to reacclimate before our families descended on her. It took even more time after we ended the call for me to get Jay and Ryder the hell out and stay out for the rest of the afternoon. I wanted time with Liz by myself. No distractions.
Elijah assured me, “I understand. See you tonight?”
