“Well, remind me to thank the designer.”
My head falls back as a moan bubbles up, and Reed presses me to the elevator wall.
The cool metal is a sharp contrast to the inferno raging through my blood, and goose bumps ripple across my arms.
It’s a swirling array of barely-there touches between my legs and Reed’s teeth lightly biting my nipple when the elevator dings.
He scoops me up in his arms, carrying me through the doors as soon as they open and down the hall. Even in just the vestibule, the hotel has decorated way more than necessary, and massive pots of flowers sit to either side of a large arch that leads to the rooms.
Reed carries me to where the hall divides, and we follow the sign for rooms 1400 to 1440.
As he finds 1436, Reed nods down to my purse.
“Care to open things up? My hands are occupied.”
I smile, biting my lip, and pull the room key out of my wallet. The whirring sound of the lock opening seems to take forever, but then we’re finally inside.
My eyes open wide when I take in our surroundings. This is clearly a five-star hotel, and they’ve spared no expense in making this suite feel like you’re in the lap of luxury.
The main area is a living room that puts my studio apartment to shame. At the far wall, there’s a massive balcony patio already set up with a bucket of champagne on ice and a trail of red rose petals.
“How is this here?”
I study Reed’s expression in wonder as he sets me down, and I head straight for the balcony.
“I called room service when you went to powder your nose.”
“I believe the exact phrase I used was ‘freshen up’ because I was trying to speak politely in the ritzy restaurant.”
Reed laughs. I turn to the glass double doors, opening them wide and letting the evening breeze flood into the room.
The stars are shining as the city glows across the horizon. It’s absolutely breathtaking, and I know I’ll never forget this experience.
And we haven’t even fucked yet.
Reed’s arms circle around my waist, and he nuzzles into my neck, pushing my hair off my shoulder.
“Quite the view, indeed.”
“I know. I’ve never seen the city like this.” I grin, watching the twinkling lights.
“I was talking about you.”
Heat flares through my cheeks, and Reed spins me around, kissing me. I’m already buzzed from the wine, and the feel of his silky lips claiming me is doubly intoxicating.
Stepping back, Reed takes my hand and walks me inside.
“Come on, you haven’t even seen the best part.”
I follow him through the living area to a set of large French doors, admiring how it almost feels like we’ve traveled to Paris. The colors, the decor, it all speaks to that charming vintage feel of the city’s earliest years.
Opening the double doors, I gasp as I see the massive expanse of bedroom and adjoining bathroom. The bed is beyond huge, with cream-colored linens and fluffy pillows piled high against the ornate wooden headboard.
There are more rose petals and a tray with chocolate-covered strawberries. I’m also impressed by the sweeping sheer fabric canopy that hovers over the bed, heightening that sense of plush, soft extravagance.
Turning to the right, I see another set of doors, but these ones are open and reveal a massive bath built right into the floor and taking up the whole room. It’s already filled with steaming water, and the gentle hum of the jets sound as they create inviting bubbles.
There’s also an airy glass and stone shower in the corner and another door tucked into the back, which must go to the actual toilet.
