“I thought that was the agreement.”
“Maybe you can reach out too,” she said.
“I didn’t want you to think that was the only reason I was reaching out.”
She started to laugh. “Do you hear the words out of your mouth?”
“Kind of hard not to,” he said.
“Are they making any sense to you?”
“Not completely.”
“Good, then I’m not alone. I’m used to feeling alone in my thoughts. It’s about time someone shared it with me.”
“I’m not so sure we are thinking the same,” he said.
“I’m sure we are,” she said. “Anyway. Thanks for the report. I appreciate the quick response.”
“Not a problem,” he said. There was silence. “Ivy?”
“Yes?” she said.
“I didn’t know if you hung up.”
“Nope, was just hoping you’d say my name. You haven’t said it once.”
He didn’t think that was possible but then realized he probably hadn’t said it to her. “Now I have.”
“Now you have,” she said. “And I liked it. It turned me on. Now I’m all alone and have to figure out what to do about it.”
Shit. She was stringing him along.
“I’m sure you can figure it out.”
“You’re no fun.”
“I’m at work.”
“Oh yeah,” she said. “Sorry. Maybe we can try phone sex another time.”
“Maybe,” he croaked out. “When there isn’t anyone within shouting distance for you.”
“I’m loud,” she said. “I know. I just like to let out what I’m feeling. Can’t help it if the louder I am the more I’m feeling wonderful.”
It was a nice compliment to him and suddenly he had visions of the two of them screwing on his bed a few days ago.
He hated that he had so little control his dick started to squirm around in his pants.
“Is there anything else you need tonight?” he asked.
“Nope. I can handle it on my own,” she said. “Guess we’ll have to wait and see which one of us caves first. Have a nice night, Brooks.”
With that she hung up on him.
Damn it. She got the last word in and it was a powerful move.
His competitive nature would want him to outlast anyone.
