Ghost turns narrowed eyes on me. “You don’t think I know that? He’ll get it.” He jerks his arm away and jumps from the car.

We get Nolan into the warehouse, and Axel is already making shackles out of chain. Together we get Nolan’s arms in the chains and lock them together, leaving him hanging from the ceiling.

Ghost pops an ammonia capsule under his nose, and Nolan jerks his head up. Holy fucking shit.

“Goddamnit,” Axel grits out. “He’s a fucking kid.”

“Who are you?” Nolan stammers.

Micah steps forward. “I’m Micah Poletti.”

The kid’s eyes automatically fill with tears. “Oh shit,” he whispers. “I tried to make it better!”

I pull Micah to the side. “Look, man, I’ve done some fucked up shit in my day, but he’s a kid.”

Micah nods and turns to Axel. “Get him down.” He looks at Nolan. “You try one thing….”

“I won’t! I swear!”

Axel and Cole get him down, only to shove him into a metal chair. “How old are you?” Cole asks.

“Nineteen,” Nolan sniffs.

Micah drags another chair over and sits in front of him. “What were you doing working for Agent Reeves?”

“He busted me hacking and said he wouldn’t turn me in if I worked for him. When I found out he was dead, I did some digging to try and save my ass.” I have to admit, that’s fucking smart. Through his digging, I’m sure he found who we all are and realized he fucked up.

“Why send that USB to Cian Moren?” I ask.

Nolan shrugs and wipes his nose with his hand. “I found out that Cian needed allies, so I killed two birds with one stone. I thought maybe I could go to him for protection.”

“How the hell did you compile all that information?” Holden asks. I know his hacker brain is dying of curiosity. This kid isn’t as good as Holden, or he wouldn’t have gotten caught, but he’s up there.

“I just started with small searches of everyone. Then ran facial rec on everyone you’ve ever known.” He shrugs again. “It took some time, but I finally got what I needed with Mayor Augustus.” He looks around the room. “This is when I die, isn’t it?”

“That house? Who does it belong to?” Zane asks instead of answering his question.

“My grandparents,” Nolan answers, his bottom lip quivering. Fucking shit. He isn’t a hardened killer, no way we can kill him.

“Is all the information that you have on us in that house?” Micah asks as he stands up from his chair, and Nolan jumps two feet in the air. “Let’s talk.”

We all walk to the end of the warehouse, leaving Gray to watch over Nolan. Poor bastard.

“We can’t kill him,” Micah announces, much to my relief.

“What do we do then?” Dmitri asks.

“Destroying everything he has is the only way,” Holden supplies. “Hard drives and all.”

“That place is loaded down,” Ghost says. “It’s like a hacker’s wet dream.”

Holden grins, making me shake my head. “You have a wife that looks like Alessa, and computers get you hard?” I ask.

“I suggest you don’t talk about our wife like that,” Zane speaks up. “Don’t think I won’t kill you.”

I wave that away. “I don’t look at Alessa like that.” Not since Bridget, anyway. I won’t lie and say I’ve never entertained the idea of pushing things with Les, but when we became close friends, that was furthest from my mind. I only fucked with her to mess with Ryder’s jealous ass. How it took her so long to realize he was in love with her is beyond me.

“We only have eyes for one woman,” Dmitri says.
