Who are you?I pondered.

“Wow, Noah’s one lucky bastard. I know he’s a good-looking guy, but how the hell did he manage to get a ring on that finger?”

Was that a compliment? I couldn’t think. Stricken with confusion, I stared down at my ring finger.

“Let me guess, you’re getting that missing solitaire resized, huh?” His voice was deep like Noah’s, but he spoke with more warmth.

“Um …”

What the hell, Aria? Speak! Words! Use them! Use your brain and stop standing there sounding like an absolute doofus!

“Now I really regret not showing up for the family reunion.” He took a step forward, while I just stood there.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” I asked, resting a hand on the door frame.

Seriously? Why can’t you just ask him who he is like a normal person?I had no explanation for that. All I knew was that I was very much affected by this mysterious stranger who was striking beyond words.

“It means”—he reached for my left hand and raised it to his lips—“if you’d laid those gorgeous blue eyes on me three years ago, you wouldn’t be married to my brother.” His gaze was darkly intense, and my face flushed in heat when he placed a gentle kiss in between my knuckles.

Whoa, wait … brother?

“You … you’re Noah’s brother?” I stupidly stuttered in disbelief.

“It’s probably a good thing that I wasn’t invited to your wedding. I would have put a stop to it.” He showed off another seductive smile before he let go of my hand. “Maybe that’s why my invitation got lost in the mail.”

I listened as he cleared his throat and altered the sound of his voice, making it sound more animated, like an impersonator.

“Should anyone here present know of any reason that this couple should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace.”He laughed, and I loved the way it sounded. “I wouldn’t have been able to hold my peace, dollface.”

Oh, now I get it! He’s imitating a wedding minister.I blushed again.

“Are you going to invite me in? I’m not the Big Bad Wolf.” He looked up and stared at the monstrosity that was Noah’s mansion. “It’s not like I can huff and puff and blowthishouse down.” His eyes found mine again, as he leaned in closer and spoke in a whisper. “And I certainly won’t bite.” He paused. “Hard.”

I shivered.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Noah angrily said. He hovered behind me and pulled me closer to him, which was ridiculous because it wasn’t like I was at risk of getting kidnapped.

“That’s no way to greet your little brother.” He smiled sardonically at Noah, and then switched his gaze back to me.

Little brother? Noah doesn’t have a little brother. He is the youngest.I specifically remembered that conversation we had about his siblings.

“I like your wife,” he continued. “She hasn’t said much, but she doesn’t need to when she’s an absolute stunner.” He winked at me and I felt my cheeks heat up again.

“What the—She’s not my wife!”

“No? Oh, thank God.” He sighed in relief and handed me his cellphone. “Drop your digits, sweetheart. I’d love to take you out.”

I wanted to tell him that I was his niece, but Noah beat me to it with another raging outburst.

“Stop hitting on my daughter! What the hell is wrong with you?”

That naturally charismatic smile disappeared when he looked back at me, wide eyed, his jaw dropping in shock. I stood there feeling a little awkward as those mysterious brown eyes penetrated right through me before they targeted his brother’s face. He repeated this pattern of observation for at least five seconds, comparing the resemblances in our physical features.

“Wait, she’s …”

My uncle looked at me long and hard, narrowing his eyes in disbelief.

“You’reAria?”
