With that, he grabbed her by the hips and pulled her onto his hard, waiting cock. Immediately, both of them were lost in the familiar but now newly exciting sex.
This wasn’t just a random fuck. This was the mating mark. Each movement of her body on top of his, of him inside her, became new and exciting. It was all full of meaning.
“You know that it will hurt, right?” he asked. “I just don’t want you to be surprised.”
“I don’t mind hurting a little bit. For you,” she answered.
In a way, this is even better than the moment of giving the mark itself,Mahes thought. Just feeling each other, getting closer every second to the moment and every moment, choosing to continue, to keep moving toward it. That was what it was all about, really. Choosing over and over to make something permanent. That’s all any relationship ever was.
His hands went up her waist and toward her breasts. He played with both of them as she leaned her head back.
“I’m getting close,” she said.
“Good,” he told her, running his hands down her back. “Enjoy it.”
That was the moment it happened. One moment, it was building inside of him, and the next, her climax coursed through her body. He responded in two ways, spilling his seed inside her while his nail scratched like a claw over her hip.
There was nothing cruel or violent about this scratch. He knew it would hurt a little, but he was careful and precise. He wasn’t marking her to hurt her. He was marking her to prove his love.
Still, he watched her face, studying her as something flickered over her expression. She did not look pained as much as startled, and he imagined that he would feel the same way if the role was reversed.
She fell onto the bed on her side. Immediately, Mahes stood and went to the bathroom. “One second. I’ll be there to clean and bandage it.”
He returned, carrying a large bandage, a cloth, and a bottle of some transparent liquid. He dabbed the cloth with the liquid and sat next to her.
“This will hurt a little, but only for a moment,” he warned. She winced as the cloth touched her but did not move away. A second later, he had the bandage on her, and she breathed.
“Think it will look cool when the stage lights are on it?” she joked.
Mahes smiled. “I think it will be the most beautiful thing in the world.”
She lay back on her side. “Is this a one-time thing? Or do you do this whenever you want to show how committed you are to someone?”
Mahes froze. He thought he had clearly explained what the mating mark was. It was a sign that a relationship was permanent. He remembered hearing that humans had something similar to it, but not quite the same. They used rings. Wedding bands, they called them.
But that was a silly way to do it, he thought. After all, even if you said a ring was forever, you still could take it off. The marking was more serious than that. It really was forever.
“It’s a one-time thing,” he managed. “It’s actually taken quite seriously.”
She looked up at him. “How seriously?”
“Pretty seriously.” What could he do now? This had been a mistake. He had let his emotions in the moment pull him along, and now he’d done something he couldn’t take back. He didn’t regret it, of course. It was everything he had ever wanted. But the idea that she might have remorse, that she might even be angry at him for not explaining what the mark really meant, frightened him.
With limited time left to win her heart, could he afford this? But on the other hand, could he afford to keep another secret from her?
“It means love,” he said finally. “That I love you and that you love me.”
“Well, I do,” she replied. “You know I do.”
She laid her head on his chest and closed her eyes. He stroked her hair as she fell asleep, totally comfortable and trusting him entirely.
He wouldn’t keep another secret from her. He would talk to her about it, and she would understand that it had been a misunderstanding. But not just yet. Right now, he would let her lie on his chest and relax. They could enjoy this one perfect moment before he put everything at risk.
He closed his own eyes and sank into the bed. Yes, this was a perfect moment. He started to drift away into sleepiness. Yes, he would talk about it with her, and they would find a way to deal with it. It would all be okay.
