“Are you one of them?” he asked.
She shook her head and pulled herself back up. “No, because my job is like that, too. You don’t really have a lot of time to yourself, and when you do, it can be interrupted at any moment. It just really makes you enjoy the time you do have even more. It was a sore spot with some of my exes, however.”
They continued to talk, and he learned a little bit more about her. She told him about her passion for singing growing up and how she never thought it would happen.
She told him about her favorite foods and all the traveling she’d done. She expressed how she was looking forward to traveling with him and seeing everything his world had to offer.
They were laughing when the chef walked up with the other food. Addie’s eyes danced, taking it all in.
The chef waved his hand at all the plates and gave her a smile. “I made some food that was pretty close to something you’d eat. I hope you enjoy it all.”
Their food wasn’t that different from Earth's, but she loved their spices. He grabbed the bottle of Sidaii wine, which counteracted the heat of the food, and poured them each a drink.
“I must warn you,” he said, handing her a glass. “The food might have a kick to it. That's why I told him to cook food from your planet rather than ours.”
Her eyebrows went up, and her smile grew. “Really? Like really spicy?”
He nodded, grabbing the wing of a bird and taking a bite. The food they had didn’t often have a lot of flavor, which is where their seasonings came into play.
He took a swig of wine, allowing it to calm his tongue. After years of eating the food, he didn’t have a problem, but he worried she might.
She took a bite before her eyes flickered toward the wine, and she grabbed it, taking a large swig. He chuckled, taking another bite. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
They continued to eat, finishing two bottles of wine. They were having a great time, chatting about many things. He found Addie was funny, and he loved listening to her.
The wine hit him, and he finally switched to drinking water, not wanting to lose control of himself. With Addie still lying in her swimsuit, his control was hanging by a thread still.
Addie moved, and he kept watching the way her body shifted. His eyes watched her breasts bounce, imagining how they would look while they fucked. He watched the way she shifted her legs wider, and he took in her bikini line, aching to run his tongue along it.
He took a deep drink of the water, watching Addie take another long sip of the wine. He could see her shoulders had relaxed, and what little guard she had was gone.
Before, she was a little shy, but now, she was giving him the eyes that made him want to eat her. He shook his head, trying to clear his mind and silence his lion.
The sun was setting, and the sky erupted into dark shades of blue. He could see she was amazed as she looked up at it. “It’s beautiful. There are far more stars in the sky than on Earth.”
He watched her pull herself out of her chair. She wobbled, and he reached for her, catching her before she could fall. She sank into his arms, sighing heavily.
His cock jerked, and he tightened his hold on her. As badly as he wanted her, she was far too drunk for him. He even had a little buzz going.
He shouldn’t have opened the second bottle of wine, but he couldn’t help it. He and Addie were having a good time, and he wasn’t really paying attention. He was more disappointed by the fact he wasn’t going to get laid. He couldn’t sleep with her if she wasn’t mentally there. He wasn’t the type of guy to try for it when the person might not even remember tomorrow, no matter what she acted like hours ago.
“I think it’s time we call it a night,” he said, hoisting her into his arms.
She relaxed into his shoulder and giggled. “Oh? Are you going to put me to bed?” she said, wiggling an eyebrow at him.
He nodded. “Yes, and sleep. You’re going to sleep.”
She frowned as he turned them, heading them inside. “What if I don’t want to sleep?” she whispered to him.
His lion growled at the suggestion, but he silenced it. She was a beautiful, interesting woman, but she was more than just some cheap lay. He wasn’t going to take advantage of her state to trick her into bed. He wanted to build something with her, and he wasn’t about to throw that all away on an impulse craving immediate satisfaction.
On Nova Aurora, there was a saying. Waiting makes for the sweetest wine. Being with Addie was going to be the sweetest drink ever; he already knew that for certain. It was worth the wait to get there.
“You will sleep just fine,” he promised her, glancing at her as she pushed a door open. “As soon as you hit the bed. That was strong wine, and you'll fall asleep easily.”
“What if I wanted your dick first?”
He stubbed his toe on a step, not paying attention. He cursed under his breath, and she giggled again. He glanced at her. “Not tonight.”
