MAHES

This could be going better. It wasn’t going bad. They weren’t screaming at each other, but the awkwardness was still hanging in the air like a balloon. He was worried it was going to pop at any moment and everything was going to fall apart.

And it was all his fault. Him and his damn temper. But he cared so much about Addie that he couldn’t let her want for anything.

He glanced at her, watching her pop a fry into her mouth. She smiled as she chewed. “I’ll give him credit. These are pretty good for not having made them before.”

His chest deflated just slightly. It still didn’t mean he hadn’t screwed up majorly. He was trying to make sure she was comfortable, and yet he managed to do the opposite.

She popped another fry into her mouth, tilting her head slightly. “You look unhappy. Is something wrong?”

He shook his head, but she raised an eyebrow, not believing him.

“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’m not good at this. I don’t really know much about humans, and I figured you’d be more comfortable eating your home food instead of what we have.”

She waved a hand. “Like I said, I love to eat travel food.”

He watched her eat another fry, and the way her jaw moved made his cock pulse. He tried adjusting, but nothing was helping.

She was practically naked, and the way her body had been rubbing up against him in the pool, he was lucky he hadn’t come on the spot. He hadn’t felt like this in years, and he figured he would have ten times more control over himself now that he was older.

She leaned back, taking a deep breath in before she closed her eyes and sighed. “It is really peaceful out here.”

He scanned her again. He took in her long legs and the way the straps on her swimsuit clung to her like a second skin. He wanted to see what was underneath so badly. He wanted to know what she looked like when she was giving herself to him.

He quickly shook his head.

Fuck! Focus. If you don’t calm down, it’s going to be a long day.

He grabbed a fry, popping it into his mouth. He allowed his mind to focus on the flavor and the crunch rather than the way Addie moved to adjust her ass in the chair.

He internally groaned, aching to feel what those plump globes felt like on his cock. His lion growled hungrily for his mate.

He cleared his throat. “So, I know you're a singer, but what else should I know about you?”

She peeled her eyes open and looked at him. She thought to herself before she smirked. “I’m a heavy sleeper. And I snore. It’s been said I snore like a trucker.”

He tilted his head at her, confused. “What does that mean?”

She laughed and shook her head. “A trucker is someone who drives big semi-trucks on Earth. They work long hours, so when they sleep, they sleep hard and deep. And they snore loudly.”

He felt a little embarrassed about the lack of information he knew about her and Earth. He was going to have to do research later so he didn’t feel like a complete idiot.

“Well, I’m sure it’s not that bad.”

She chuckled. “You say that now, but just you wait.”

He watched her pull a hand up, shading her face. “What about you? What’s something I should know?”

There were a ton of things she should know. Just as they were a ton of things, he should know about her. He just needed time to learn them all.

“I am busy with work. I often get called away randomly throughout the day.”

She still held a smirk, nodding. “That is good to know. It means you're doing your job. Though some girls would hate that.”

She was right. Some people would hate to date someone who could never give them all their undivided attention at all times.
