Gray:
LK, drinks @MelvinsBar tonight. Seven p.m.
Me:
Your sister told me I can’t go out.
Gray:
It’s a team thing. And don’t worry… her bark is far worse than her bite.
Me:
I find that hard to believe. But, fine, I’ll be there.
I mean, how can I say no? I’m supposed to be making friends with my new teammates. I can’t do that if I don’t go and hang out with them. Grayson doesn’t message back.
“I gotta go out and meet the team tonight. You wanna come?” I ask Matty.
“Nah, I’m gonna head back to school. If you need me, call me. And I’ll keep Mom at bay, tell her to leave you alone for a bit.”
“Thanks.” I nod my head. “I’m real glad you visited.” I didn’t realize how much I missed him.
ChapterFifteen
“This is too sweet,” I say, holding up my glass of sugary white wine.
“I like it.” Nicole shrugs.
“You like any wine,” Charlie reminds her.
“This is true.” Nicole nods her head.
“Okay, so have you banged him yet?” Charlie asks, quickly changing the subject to what the rest of them are thinking. I knew the question was coming. We’ve been sitting in this bar for a whole ten minutes. I’m surprised she’s held out this long, honestly.
“No, and I don’t plan to,” I assure them.
“You stayed at his house. How did you not screw that man’s brains out?”
“He’d have to have brains first.” I smirk. I don’t think Liam is stupid. In fact, I know he’s not. But I cannot give my friends even the slightest inclination that Imighthave a small crush on the guy. They are relentless in their pursuit of getting me laid.
So what if I might be having a dry spell? It’s only been six months. Which is not that long in the grand scheme of things. Besides, my vibrator does a much better job at giving me orgasms than any guy ever has.
“It’s a crime to all womankind, Aliyah. You have an all-access pass to Liam fucking King and you’re not going to use it?” Amanda says.
“He’s not an object, you know. He’s an actual person. And, no, I’m not sleeping with him.” No matter how much he keeps giving me the option.
“I’m sure he wouldn’t object to being used by you. No man in their right mind would. Shit, I’ve even considered switching teams for you.” Charlie laughs. She’s not lying. During our first year at college, she suggested we just date each other. I quickly shut down that idea by reminding her how much she liked penises and that I didn’t and still don’t have one of those.
“Next topic, please.” I gulp down the wine that is way too sugary to be classed as anything but a confectionary. How do people drink this stuff? And whose idea was it to meet at a wine bar anyway?
“Nope, you still haven’t given us all the hot goss. How big is it?” Amanda asks.
“I wouldn’t know,” I lie.
“You’re lying. You’re a terrible liar, by the way. You have so many tells.” Nicole points at my face.
“I do not have tells. And I’m not lying.”
