“I have an idea. Get in.”

Josie climbed into the passenger seat and waited for me to back out of the parking lot. “Look underneath my seat and see if that sleeping bag and pillow are still there.”

She bent down and pulled them out. “Are we going camping?”

I laughed. “No. We’re going to be alone. I just wanted to make sure we have something to lay on.” I eyed the bags beside her. “What’s in the bag?”

She eyed me and laughed. “You know good and dang well what’s in it. Something for you.”

That went straight to my dick.Clutching my palms around the steering wheel, I squirmed to get myself under control. “I’ve never sent pictures to anyone before. You’re not going to show 'em to anyone—,”

I stopped her with a death glare. “You seriously think I’d let someone else see you like that, Josie? Please, I couldn’t even handle you going on an innocent date with someone else.”

Josie smirked but it fell. “Speaking of. King came into the writing center today.”

“Oh, yeah?”

“Yeah, and accused me of being a slut, then he said Waverly told him about your counseling.”

I scoffed as we drove further away from civilization. “Of course she did. That’s what she’d said right before you walked inside.”

“What a witch,” Josie mumbled, twisting her bag straps in her hands. “I saw King getting drugs from someone, too. India said she thought he was high.”

High?It was against football rules to get drunk, take steroids, or any kind of drugs. If the Coach catches him, he’ll be kicked off the team. The thought of telling Coach lingered, but I wouldn’t be like him.

“Did you like it?” Josie whispered. It was so low that I wasn’t sure she asked it.

The setting sun beamed in the distance through the pine trees, casting a glow over her features. “I’ve never seen anything so perfect,” I said.

“I don’t have any of it on, I was going to change but we left—,”

“I don’t need to see you in that, Josie.” I reached over and placed my palm against her thigh. “You have to know that, right?”

She glanced down at my hand, interlacing her fingers with mine. She mumbled something about thedays of the weekbut nodded. “Yeah. I do.”

We drove another fifteen minutes before I pulled into an open field where the football team used to party after home games. It sat in between Zachary and LSU, but it was quiet, besides the cicadas singing and the low hum of the trees tossed in the wind. The grassy field blew at our feet as I sprawled the sleeping bag out in the bed of the truck and placed the pillow down.

I helped Josie up and gestured for her to settle first. I watched her get comfortable, and I slid in beside her, holding myself up with my elbow. “I’m sorry they ruined the mood,” I whispered.

Josie chuckled. “They didn’t ruin the mood for me.”

I smiled, tracing her lips with the pad of my thumb. Lowering my mouth, I kissed her. A kiss that she deserved to be her first kiss. Not the aggressive kiss I gave her in the hallway. My anger fueled me then, now, my emotions moved me forward. The kind I pushed down deep so that no one knew they existed. The kind, as a child, I thought made me look weak.

She sank her arms around my neck, pulling me in between her parted legs that slowly diminished the soft side of me. Her little moans and the grinding of her hips had my head gone. I pinned her hips to the bed of my truck and glanced down at her.

Her sweet scent hit my nose, causing my hormones to run rapidly inside of me. At this rate, I’d have her in ten different positions before the night ended, and I wouldn’t let Josie lose her virginity in the back of my truck in some random field.

“You set the pace, Josie, because I’m not thinking straight,” I whispered.

She whimpered something incoherently into my mouth and bit my lip. My blood turned to fire, and one hand gripped the back of her neck, angling her mouth for better access and the other slid up her side, underneath the fabric of her t-shirt.

Josie squirmed against me. She whispered my name as I moved my mouth from hers and down the slender path of her neck. She clutched the cover beneath us, the back of my t-shirt, and mumbled, “More.”

I dragged the top of her bra down and pinched her nipple, which earned me a cry. “More,” she insisted, her voice hoarse. Quickly, I sat back on my shins and yanked her shirt over her head, revealing a simple white bra and a blushing Josie. She curled her arms around her stomach, but I stopped her, pinning her wrist above her head.

“No, don’t hide,” I whispered, kissing down until I took her nipple in my mouth.

Josie’s back arched from the bed of the truck and she sunk her fingers into my hair. I rolled the peaked tip around my mouth, moving my hand down to the top of her jeans. She bucked her hips, encouraging me, so I slid the zipper down and shoved it down her thighs.
