What the hell? I thought I still had time. “Why the change in date?”
“It’s taking too long, and I need you to head to Florida next.”
Instead of saying something I’d regret, I simply said, “Goodbye, Daddy. I’m sure I’ll speak to you soon.” Then ended the call.
A few moments later, I realized I was still sitting in my towel. I got up and looked over my luggage, noting that maybe something casual would be nice for tonight. Especially since Ryder and I were apparently going to have the house to ourselves.
“Now, why would you even think of getting dressed?” The man’s voice was a wicked whisper in my ear. I hadn’t even realized he had returned to the house, let alone showered and let himself into my room.
“Because I can’t just wear a towel tonight now, can I?”
He pressed a kiss to my neck. His “Sure you can” was followed by another kiss a little lower this time. “I won’t object.”
“Of course you wouldn’t.” One of his arms wrapped around my waist and pulled me against him and I felt the warmth of his bare chest against my back. The other slowly but surely inched higher and higher up my thigh.
“What are you doing?” I breathed. Though I hoped he didn’t stop to answer me.
“Darlin’, I’ve told you before. If you start something, you better be prepared to finish it. After the way you woke me up this morning, I certainly have unfinished business with you.”
He spun me on the spot and the towel fell to the floor without resistance under his questing hands.
Thank God, those hands never did stop. At least not for a very long time.
