Scarlett loses track of time. With Nick supporting her, she hangs in a blissful limbo, the warm water hitting her skin, his throbbing dick buried deep in her. He releases his hold on her neck, his rough fingers tracing down the side of her face. His lips follow in the path of his fingers, his warm breath sending a shiver through her body. ‘You are stunning, Scarlett.’

In hindsight, replying with anything other than a grunt would have been great. But she’s surprised she even got the grunt out. Her body and mind are completely fucked by this amazing man.

Nick’s chest rises and falls against her back, his deep breaths against her neck doing nothing to calm her down. She’s never wanted to have sex over and over again with someone before. She’d have sex and that would be it. Job done. With Nick, they come, and she wants to come all over again. And again.

‘I’m with you there, Scarlett. I’d love to go again,’ he says, his breath warm on her ear. ‘But I’ll be late to my own meeting.’

‘Get out of my head.’

His slips out of her, turning her around and taking her in his arms again. ‘I told you - I’m not in your head. It’s not my fault you’re mentally fucking me every minute. It’s my magic. I can’t help but pick up on it.’

She slaps him playfully on the stomach. ‘I do not. And it’s got nothing to do with your magic. You’re insatiable.’

‘Eh yeah. You do actually. You’re doing it right now.’

‘I think if you did that to me again right now, you’d kill me.’

‘Whatever, and I’m only insatiable because I’ve got you to play with.’

‘You can play with me whenever you want.’

He kisses her, his hard wet body feeling so good against hers. ‘Like I said, I’d keep you in my room for the next few days, but I’d never hear the end of it if I miss my own meeting. You going to fall, or are you good?’

‘Fifty fifty at the moment.’

Without another word, he gathers her in his arms and carries her into the bedroom, tucking her into the monstrous bed. It could easily fit five or six people without any problems.

‘You couldn’t get a bigger bed?’

He slides in beside her, gathering her in his arms again. ‘It’s fucking ridiculous, right? I remember seeing this room for the first time. I’d been sleeping in doorways for about a year, then get brought to Lapland of all places, and was handed this. Don’t know why he picked me, but I’m damn grateful he did. It’s been a crazy thirty-five years.’

‘I just realised something,’ she says moving back from him so she can look at his face. ‘You’re in your seventies.’

He grins and winks at her. ‘Yep. Seventy six to be exact. That’s freaked you out.’

‘Not at all. With everything else I’ve had to process over the last few days, the fact I’m sleeping with a guy in his mid seventies isn’t a big deal. And you look really good for someone your age.’

‘I’m going to take the compliment from all that, and say thank you. The age thing is a bit of a strange one though. I’ve been alive for seventy six years but technically I’m still forty one.’

‘Was that not weird for you? Everyone else is ageing and you’re not.’

He smiles briefly. ‘I didn’t have anyone left. It was just me so not ageing wasn’t an issue for me. The rest of my team are locked in time too. As are the workers here. It’s a perk and, for some, not so much. I guess it depends on what we’re leaving behind.’ He takes a hold of the locket around his neck so she decides to ask the question. ‘Can I see them? Would you mind?’

‘You want to?’

‘Of course.’

He pauses for a moment, before opening it and showing her the picture of his wife and daughter. ‘They’re beautiful, Nick. Your daughter is the image of you.’

He nods. ‘Yeah. I know.’

‘What were their names?’

‘Emma and Bethany. I bumped into Emma outside a coffee shop. Literally. Covered her in coffee. But my clumsiness paid off. We were married a few years later, then Bethany arrived.’ He frowns deeply, closing the locket again. She leaves him to his thoughts. Losing his entire family like that is heart breaking.

He pushes upright, lying back against the headboard. ‘You’re coming with me to the meeting,’ he says, back to business again. ‘I want you to know everything. It’s only fair since I dragged you into this fight. I’ll have to go on the Christmas run after that. I’ll be gone for about a day once I get around to everyone. When I get back I’ll be out of it for a bit.’

‘What do you mean out of it?’
