“Only if it doesn’t,” she promised, and he lifted her into his hold. He wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her to the bed, laying her out over it to teasing her into heaven.
Chapter 7
Jasper ignored the look from Mrs. Nelson as he took the tray he’d requested but her eyes followed him as he moved to the door, and he turned back towards her with a smile. “I fully plan to marry her as soon as I’ve managed to meet her father. To do that, I have to let Missy finish out her internship at the office. I’d never last another eleven weeks so you can wipe that disapproving look off your face woman. I’m not about to hurt her.”
“You’d better not or else you’ll be getting my resignation for Christmas,” she replied, letting out a smile once he was at the doors.
Jasper slipped into Melissa’s room and set the tray down on the nightstand, leaning over to give her a soft kiss awake. The sheet dipped slightly showing off the curve of her backside and he let his hand slip onto her skin as her eyes opened. “Good morning gorgeous, I hope you slept well.”
“Never better.” Melissa leaned up to kiss him, forgetting the fact that she was naked beneath the sheet. It felt heavenly against her skin, but his hands made her feel even better.
“Good,” he replied giving into the kiss as she pulled him down onto the bed with her. Her hands traced along the edge of his pants, moving lower a tiny fraction at a time and he moaned into her mouth when she finally touched him.
“Missy…hell princess that feels so good.”
“Teach me what you like,” she whispered to him as he stretched out beside her, shoving the sheet away so he could see her in the soft light of the morning sky. It was a magical mix of pink and blue, making her skin shimmer and he had to taste every inch of it again.
“I called city works earlier,” he told her as he fed her bites of their cold breakfast, the time inching closer towards eight but he didn’t care in the least. “We should be able to get your things around ten.”
“I’ll be fine, you don’t have to wait here until I can head that way,” she said resting on her stomach watching him. “I’ll get a change of clothes and then be into the office as soon as I can make it.”
“Do you honestly think I’d let you stay there now, princess?” he questioned meeting her gaze as his hand slipped down her spine. “I don’t care if you want to use this room and have me use mine, but there is no chance that I’m going to let you be half-way across town from me. I want to know that you’re here, safe, if I can’t be with you. We’ll go to the apartment and get your things. Then you can come here and settle them in; I won’t argue if you decide to use this one or my room but those are the only options to keep me from arguing, Missy.”
“Bossy, aggravating man.” She sighed as he set the plate aside. She pushed on his shoulder to turn him onto his back. He lifted a brow at her, and she slid her hand up and down his chest as she moved over his hips. “Now, tell me again, who’s making decisions here?”
Jasper couldn’t stop the smile that hit his lips seeing her exquisite body shown off boldly. God he loved this girl and he’d do anything for her, to keep her.
“Look me in the eyes and tell me that you’re just head over heels in love with that apartment, that you can’t imagine anywhere else being even close to it. You can’t because you know as well as I do that it’s awful, princess. So given the choice, why would you stay there when you can stay with me?”
“Then perhaps you should ask me if I’d like to stay with you, rather than telling me I’m going to, hmm?” Melissa said shifting against him slightly, smiling when his hands slid to her hips tightening as she began to brush against him again. “I already have to deal with an overbearing father. I’m not about to put up with another of him in my life.”
“Alright then would you please consider moving your things in here rather than staying at that horrible apartment? I promise no one will know you’re staying with me if you don’t want them to know. They’ll never know you’re going from work to here rather than that apartment,” he said letting his hands slip along her sides, against her spine and she felt it all the way to her core resting against his warm, silky skin.
“That I will say yes to,” she said with a smile before stealing a kiss, teasing him as he had her last night.
“What about this?” he said turning them, so he was hovering over her. “Spend the morning being naughty with me?”
“You practically read my mind, Jasper.” She sighed as he stole a tight tip into his mouth making her hum. “But aren’t you forgetting about work?”
“Already handled,” he assured her trailing his lips to the other peak making her arch against him, her hips pressing into his sending her mad.
“I sent Elaine a message letting her know I would be out for most of the morning with meetings and that I’d heard from you last night about the gas leak. I told her I let you know not to rush into the office today, to take whatever time you needed to handle it this morning. So, there’s no reason not to enjoy this right now, is there?”
“Mmm, no there’s not,” she agreed letting him touch and tease as he wanted, her body convulsing when he sent her over with his lips, his tongue torturing her with its intensity.
She kissed him fully as he returned to her, not letting him put any space between them before urging him to claim her body again. She knew she’d die if he didn’t and she dug her nails into his shoulder, desperately holding on as the waves built inside her, rushing to the top until they burst in unison with his release.
Melissa stood wrapped in a fluffy towel, blow drying her hair when he moved into the room, his arms wrapping her up against his chest. A smile hit her, and she leaned back into him until he took the blow dryer from her hands. He turned the heat onto her hair, his fingers running through the waves, and she felt goose bumps appear up and down her body. No one had ever washed or dried her hair outside of a salon but her, and after the way he massaged her scalp during their shower, she knew it would do bad things to her, very bad things.
“Did you also work as a washer-dryer at a salon?” she teased, meeting his gaze in the mirror.
“No, you’re the first person I’ve ever done this for, but damn if I don’t mind doing it.” He dropped a kiss onto her bare shoulder before turning his attention back to her mass of silk. “I love how it’s not one tone, so many women dye their hair one color, or just have thick streaks in it, but this is incredible. Why do you straighten it so much though? Wouldn’t it be easier to just let it go like this?”
“Not at all because unlike some people, my hair does not do unison, it does what it wants on that day.” She laughed at the fact that they were truly discussing her hair, her hair of all things.
“What’s so funny?” Jasper questioned seeing the amusement in her eyes, heard it in her sexy little laugh.
“This discussion, we’re talking about my hair, Jasper. Out of a billion subjects, we’re talking about my hair.”
