His fingers tightened, and his lip curled as he thrust deep. I wrapped my arms and legs around him and held on as he fell over the edge.

We finally got power back and spent the next couple of days together. We had a lot of sex and did a lot of talking and a lot of laughing. The time passed too quickly, and before we knew it, he had to return to work. I wanted to pout and plead with him to stay, but I knew better. I was never a clingy girlfriend, but with Matthew, I wanted to handcuff myself to him.
The weather had warmed up, and the roads opened, but driving was still dangerous unless you were an essential worker, which he was. So as he was preparing to leave, I practically begged, “Please be careful.”
“I will. Don’t worry about me.”
“You work all weekend?” I asked.
“Pretty much.”
I didn’t want to be without him for three minutes, let alone three days. “All right.”
“I’ll miss you,” he said gruffly as he brought my hand to his mouth and kissed it. “Think about what you want to do on our date.”
“Our date?”
“Well, yeah. I want to take you on a proper date. Get dressed up, eat food we haven’t prepared, then kiss you on the doorstep and hope you invite me in.”
I bit my lip and gawked at his body. “If you’re a good boy, maybe I’ll drop to my knees and suck your cock before we even get inside.”
“Christ, Bristol.” He slid his arm around my waist and pulled me to him so I could feel him between us. “You just fucking breathe, and I get hard, but when you open that mouth of yours…”
I knew what he was trying to say. I liked dirty talk both ways, and the more I let go with him, the more I realized he couldn’t control himself when I said nasty things. Having that kind of power over a man like him was incredible. “You want me to stop?”
“Hell no.” He snickered. “Just promise me you won’t turn me on when we’re out in public.”
“I thought you said if I breathed, you got hard.”
“Okay, promise you won’t turn me on even more than you already do.”
I tapped my chin. “I can’t do that.”
He drew me even closer and kissed me, and I felt him smile against my lips. “I was going to wait until Monday, but that’s too long. I’ll come pick you up Sunday after my shift, probably around seven thirty. You got a little black dress to tease me in all night?”
“I might.”
“Ugh.” He gave me one more kiss, which I felt down to my toes before he finally pulled back. “I gotta go, baby.”
“Drive carefully,” I reminded him softly.
He stood in the opened door. “I will. And don’t you leave this cabin until they say the roads are safe.”
“Okay.” I held my breath so I wouldn’t cry. It had been a long time since someone cared about me enough to ensure my safety.
“Later, sweetheart.”
“See you Sunday,” I whispered.
I walked him to the porch, but he told me to get back inside and shut the door. I listened, not because I was afraid of the consequences but because he didn’t want me to get cold, and I loved that. I still watched him through the window, and once he scraped the ice off his windshield, he caught me staring at his ass in those jeans and shook his head.
I blew him a kiss as he pulled away, and my heart skipped a beat when he caught it and held it to his chest.
Since school was still closed, I had nothing to do for the rest of the week, so I spent the time cleaning and doing laundry. I didn’t get as much sleep as I normally did with Matthew around, so I went to bed early and didn’t get up until almost ten.
On Saturday night, I was sipping a glass of wine and coloring with the news on mute in the background when my phone rang.
