She scrambles from the bed and pulls on her knickers and bra. I do the gentlemanly thing and look away.
“Tell me who she is,” Tam demands, pulling on her jeans. “I need to know what she has that I don’t.”
I sigh and rub at the back of my neck. Why won’t she fucking go? “It isn’t like that, Tam. This girl, we just gel on a personal level. It’s easy and relaxed with her. She fits me.”
Tam shakes her head as comes up to me. “We would have been good together.”
“Well, now I’m with someone, and that will not change. Move on, Tam.” I cross my arms and stand firm. “Now, don’t pull a stunt like this again. Next time, I’ll call the police and have you done for trespassing.”
MILLY
I’m in a world of my own, putting away the books I don’t need until after lunch. I jump when two arms land on either side of my locker, caging me in.
“We need to talk, Mills.” A deep voice I recognise all too well says into my ear, with the heat of his chest against my back.
“I don’t think we do.”
He chuckles in my ear. “Oh, we are only getting started, Mills. Stationery stock room now, or I may just ring Day and tell him all about your big secret.”
“You wouldn’t?” I hiss, still unable to turn around and face him as he has me hemmed in so tight.
“Meet me there in five minutes,” he orders, tugging on a strand of my pink hair. He leaves as quickly and silently as he arrived. Slamming my locker shut in annoyance, I grimace when other students eye me curiously. I throw my bag over my back and head down the corridor to the west block to deal with my latest problem.
I inch the storeroom door open and yelp when I’m manhandled and pulled inside. Seb closes the door swiftly and presses me up against the door.
“Hey Mills.” He grins as he looks down at me, his messy blonde curls falling in his eyes.
“Okay, let’s get on with it. What do you want?”
Seb chuckles. “Always so keen to get away from me, Mills. You’re a strange girl, you know. Most girls would thank God if they got some alone time in here with me.”
I fold my arms across my chest and glare at him. “I’m not most girls.”
He smirks and nods his head, biting that plump bottom lip of his. “No, you’re certainly not. I’ll cut to the chase, seeing as you like things short and sweet, like Ryan’s dick.”
I roll my eyes at him.
“You have a secret you want to keep. I have a pain in the arse psycho who has ideas that her and I are destined to be together. The crazy fucker was naked in my bed last night when I got home from practice.”
“Wow!” I grin. “Tam has it bad, doesn’t she?”
He scowls and leans into my body, gripping my chin with his fingers. “This isn’t funny, Mills. No one sleeps in my bed but me. Anyway, that’s not the point. I’ll keep your dirty little secret on one condition.”
“Go on,” I urge, annoyed that he’s dragging this out.
“You are going to be my new girlfriend, little Milly. You’ll drive to and from school with me each day. I expect you to hold my hand and gaze lovingly into my eyes. To sit on my knee at lunchtime and kiss me whenever I tell you to. You will be the one to help me get rid of Tam. In exchange, I won’t tell Damon or any of your family about your big secret.”
“I hate you!” I hiss. I’m furious that he has me right where he wants me and there is nothing I can do about it.
He places a finger on my lips and tuts, shaking his head. “Now, now, that’s no way to talk about your darling boyfriend.”
“I’m not kissing you!”
He grins wider. “Oh, you will. With tongues and everything. You’ll make sure the entire school believes that you burn hot for me. Because if you don’t, Mills, you can kiss bye-bye to being daddy’s perfect little girl. How will he feel when he finds out you’ve betrayed him in the worst way possible?”
“Do you enjoy blackmailing and manipulating people?”
He bobs his head from side to side. “Yeah, especially if it gets me what I need. And what I need, Milly Silver, is for you to be my adoring girlfriend.”
