“Still. I want to pass my A-levels because I studied and because I deserve to pass them. So, we’re going to school.” I straighten my back. “It’s going to take more than some sicko and some pathetic fake grave to keep me down.”
Archer smirks down at me. “That’s my girl.”
“I’m not yours,” I say half-heartedly in argument.
“We’ll agree to disagree today,” he says as he drops a soft barely there kiss on my lips as if he’s scared he’ll break me. I remind him I’m not that breakable by pulling him closer by his tie and deepening the kiss.
“Come on then, let’s go get this precious education you’re so concerned about,” he orders, pulling away from me and lifting me off the counter onto my feet.

Going hometo Archer’s house after school feels strange. We head straight to his room, and he tugs me towards his walk-in wardrobe.
“Jenny unpacked all your clothes,” he says, kissing me on the forehead before he undresses out of his uniform. He takes his trousers off and sits down on the large pouf. He looks at me for a beat with a tortured look on his face. “I need to know who is doing this to you, and when I find them, I’m going to kill them slowly.”
I place a hand over my heart, smiling. “Good to know that you’d kill for me,” I joke.
He doesn’t smile along with me. “I would kill for you, Scar. You’re my family now.”
My stupid heart thunders in my chest at his words. He sits here with his beautiful tattoos on display, with his perfectly chiselled body, and those dark eyes burning into mine with so much fire. I always thought I didn’t need anyone to fight for me but having him at my side telling me he’ll kill anyone who hurts me makes me feel things I’ve never felt for a boy before. It’s right on the tip of my tongue to tell him I’m pregnant, but I hesitate. I walk over to him and step between his legs. He looks up at me as I run my fingers through his dark mop of hair.
“When we find who's doing this, we’ll kill them together,” I say. “After all, they’re my stalker.”
Archer shakes his head and looks at me with wonder. “I love it when you talk violence, baby. It makes me want to fuck you into next week.”
I tip my head back and laugh. Only Archer and I could find talking about killing someone a turn on. I guess we’re the epitome of fucked up.
“I have Aces business to attend to tonight. I want you to promise me you won’t leave this house.”
I roll my eyes as his possessive and protective alpha male rears its head. “Vee and I were going to go to the cinema tonight,” I tell him, pouting my lips.
“Watch a movie here,” he replies. I can tell from the firmness of his tone that it’s not a suggestion. It’s an order.
“We can’t watch it here. It’s only out in the cinemas.”
“No.”
“Don’t tell me no,” I say gruffly.
“No, Scar. Someone dug a fucking grave for you last night. Now, if I have to chain you to my bed to make you stay in, I will.”
I arch a brow at him as I grasp the hair at the back of his neck, making him tilt his head higher to look at me.
“Don’t tell me what to do, Arch,” I say with a sigh. Deep down, I know he’s right, but I don’t take kindly to being ordered around. “I’ll stay in, but not because you’re telling me to, but because I don’t want to put my friend at risk. Oh, and you can pay for our takeaway.”
He smirks as his hands move up my thighs under my skirt. “It’s a deal. Now get undressed. We’re taking a shower.”
He’s ordering me around again, but when it’s the type of order where he wants me naked, I’m not going to argue.

We’re eatingdinner with his grandfather in the kitchen when his dad walks into the room. He loosens his tie and stops at the table. I don’t miss the frown that crosses his face when he spots me.
“Eliza,” he greets. “I didn’t know you were joining us for dinner tonight,” he says with a tight smile as he takes a seat opposite his son.
“She’ll be joining us every night from now on,” Archer tells him, glancing up from his plate. “I moved her in here today.”
Phil cocks a brow. “Ah, yes, the stalker. I heard about the latest threat. You must regret the day you ever moved here?”
