“What the fuck does he want?” Archer growls, and I follow his scowl to where my friend is leaning near my locker.

“Be nice,” I warn him, playfully hitting his chest with the back of my hand. “He’s my friend, and you’re going to have to get used to that.” I duck from under his arm. Grinning at my friend, I throw myself around his neck and hug him.

“Hey, you.” Silver grins at me and squeezes my waist before taking a step back from me. His eyes fall on Archer, who’s looking at him like he wants to knock him out.

“Thought you might be missing this,” he says, holding out my favourite Ramones t-shirt.

“Ah, I wondered where this had got to.” I grin, taking it from him and shoving it into my bag.

“Emma wants to know if you’re free for tea one Thursday?” he asks me.

“Who the fuck’s Emma?” Archer barks, coming up behind me and placing a possessive hand on my hip.

I place my hand over his and pat it. “Emma is Damon’s sister and also my friend.”

“Are we friends with the whole family now?” he asks me dryly, and I can’t help but smile at his jealousy. It’s kind of sexy.

“Yes, tell her I’d love to do tea,” I inform Damon.

“Great, we can go straight from school,” Damon suggests, but before I have a chance to agree, Archer speaks for me.

“I’ll drop you off. He can meet you there.”

I roll my eyes at Damon, and he fights a smile. “Looks like I’m meeting you there.”

“Sure thing,” Damon replies with a wink. “Catch you later, princess.” He turns on his heels and heads off towards the cafeteria.

“Princess,” Archer scoffs.

Shaking my head, I turn to face the pissed off man at my back. I wrap my hands around his neck. “You don’t think I’m a princess?”

Archer pulls me flush against him, looking down at me with that fiery expression that turns my thoughts to mush. “You’re no princess, Scar, You’re a queen. My queen.”

“He’s my friend Archer and you are going to have to accept that because I’m not giving him up just because you’re a possessive arsehole.”

“We’ll see,” he answers gruffly, glaring over my head in the direction Damon left.

ELIZA

Isurvive a day of whispers, stares, and glares. Some girls look at me like they wish they were me; others look at me like they’d like to stab me in the back. The girls that look wistfully at me with Archer have no idea what my life is like. I doubt they’ll have to marry at seventeen.

When I walk out of school my stupid heart flips in my chest when my eyes find Archer Savage resting on the bonnet of his sports car, His shirt sleeves are rolled up to reveal those sexy tattoos. He’s wearing his shades, chewing on gum and his full attention is on me, with his signature smirk on his face.

“This surprise isn’t another trip to the woods, is it? Are you planning to leave me in the middle of nowhere and test me?”

He chuckles under his breath. “Not today, Scar. Today is a nice surprise. Or at least I hope it will be. Let’s say this is part of me showing you that you’re my priority now.”

“Okay,” I reply with a bob of my shoulders. “Can we get milkshakes on the way? I’ve been thinking about a banana shake all afternoon.”

He reaches out and grabs me as I go to get in the car, pulling me between his legs on the bonnet. “Whatever my queen wants, she gets,” he assures me as he nuzzles into my neck. “Hmm, you smell good.”

“I always smell good,” I agree, as I allow this display of affection. He’s slowly worming his way back in and my stupid heart loves it.

“Come on, let’s go before I decide to kidnap you and take you somewhere secluded to devour you.”

Sigh, my over-excited libido likes that idea greatly.

As I climb into the passenger seat, I spot Chester leaning on the wall, a Vape in his hand, watching us. I arch a brow in confusion when he salutes Archer.
