“You had me at the cake, Levi,” she says, through her tears.
“So it’s all about my ability to order the best cake on the island,” I tease.
A smile breaks on her gorgeous face.
“I love you so much, Levi. The last couple of months have been a dream. Becoming your wife is just the icing on the cake.”
“That darn cake again,” I grumble.
She laughs harder.
I take her hands in mine.
“Jules Salinger. My girlfriend and the woman I love with every fiber of my being.” Her lips quiver at my solemn tone. “We’re going to have an amazing life together,” I state.
She tightens her grip.
I glance down at the delicate hands that are encased in mine and back up to her smiling hazel green eyes.
“We’re going to have a fucking amazing life,” she declares.
“Let me make it official,” I say.
She knits her eyebrows together in confusion.
I let go of her hands and fish for the little red box hidden in my pocket.
Her breath hitches when I pull it out.
I open the box and present it to her.
“Holy eye-popping diamond ring!” she exclaims. “That’s gorgeous!”
“I got a little help from a certain redhead,” I admit.
“Well, said redhead knows me too well,” she laughs.
“You like it?” I ask.
“Levi, it’s perfect.”
Music to my ears.
I pull out the ring and take her hand in mine.
We’re both grinning like fools as I slip the dazzling ring on her finger.
She lifts her hand to eye level.
“I’ll need to walk around with bodyguards from now on,” she jokes. “This rock is enormous!”
I got her an exquisite, brilliant round diamond center with a swirling halo of smaller diamonds, with additional diamonds on the split, crisscross shank. Yeah, I went all out.
“It’s tiny compared to my love for you,” I proclaim.
She leaps from the chair into my arms.
I catch her and cover her face with kisses before finding her lips.
