Page 20 of Touch Me

Just imagining Jace on his knees in front of me, licking and sucking, sends me over the edge. My core pulses and clenches on nothing, empty, as the orgasm rocks my body. I slap a hand over my mouth to muffle the moan that slips out. With trembling legs, I come back to myself. Struggling to find the energy to finish the shower now that my legs are jelly, I soak up the heat and steam until I feel like a puddle sliding out of the stall.

Dried, dressed, and brushed, I gather my clothes and hide the paraphernalia in the dirty pile. Reaching for the knob through the steam, I rush out and immediately collide with a brick wall. Seriously, he doesn’t even stumble. I bounce back and ricochet off the wall, sending my clothes and Shaky—yes, for real—flying to the ground in front of him.

“Oh my god. I’m so sorry,” he says as he takes a step back. Instead of reaching out to help me up, his arms shoot up in the air like he’s being robbed at gunpoint.

“It’s my fault.”

I crawl to the pile of shame before me to cover any hint of my extracurricular shower activities. And, yes, I know I have no reason to be ashamed, but I’m not ready to delve into the societal standards of women right now, okay? I’ve been in his house for one day and I just got caught stroking it in his bathroom.

I’m in crisis mode.

“I should have looked both ways before crossing the street,” I joke as I try to push my dirty clothes over the toy before he sees it. In actuality, what I did is successfully draw his attention straight to my big pink vibrator. His jaw does that ticking thing again, but he doesn’t look away.

Why don’t they make these things in neutral colors?

Seriously, it might as well be flashing neon. His eyes never stray from the toy.Maybe they could be friends. The absolute sinful possibilities flashing through my brain right now are going to land me another Shaky shower—did he just growl?

I have to say something.Anything.Or maybe an earthquake could hit.Like right now. What’s a girl gotta do to summon one little earthquake?

Is there, like, a spell or something?

Still on my hands and knees, I clump my clothes into a pile and gather them in my arms like precious cargo. I quickly stand and he finally peels his gaze from my belongings and meets my eyes.

“Sorry about that. I’m just going to discard this stuff, I mean not discard. I’m not going to throw it away, themaway. Not it.My clothes. I’m not going to throw them away. Just, put, putthem away. And then I can make some breakfast.” My cheeks heat and I’m guessing they’re as red as his right now.

His fists clench at his sides and his eyes look everywhere but at me. “Uh, I'm just going to grab a power bar and head up to the gym.” He darts around me, and I close my eyes, silently cursing any God who had a hand in that fucking disaster.

Did I step on some ancient cursed leaf or something?

Between thesecrets in the darkdream and now this, someone is out there having a fucking field day puppeteering my life.

I take his apathy as a blessing, run to my room and shut the door.

I’ve only been awake for thirty minutes, and I’ve already utterly humiliated myself. Well, at least it can’t get any worse. Right?Right?

My phone buzzes on the nightstand again. It’s Ally, calling this time.

I plop down on the bed and answer, “Hey.”

“Hi, how are you?” She is way too cheery for my current mood.

“Ready to crawl in a hole and die,” I groan.

“What? Why? It’s only been a day.”

“Well, I unceremoniously collided with Jace in the hallway after my shower, and my vibrator landed at his feet. Just shoot me.”

Ally bursts out laughing. I give her the moment, but roll my eyes at her reveling in my embarrassment like only a sister can.

She clears her throat. “Sorry. Seriously, though, who cares? We all have them. Actually, it probably excited him. Picturing you in the shower doing a little diddle to your skittle.”

“Oh, shut up. You’re not helping.”

“He probably went hard as stone. I bet he’s jerking it right now.”

“You're literally the worst sister, you know that?”

After another bout of hysterics, she finally calms down enough for me to change the subject. “So, what’s new with you? How’s second grade?”
