Page 58 of Yearning For Her

His breakfast.

And oh, God, that man could kiss. The way his lips moved against hers, that teasing tongue, and his taste… He made her toes curl and her panties wet every single time.

Willow shook off those thoughts and forced herself to focus on the here and now. She was working, and Kian had already occupied her mind far too much. “Kimani, could you turn your face toward the window and tilt your chin down?”

The woman did as instructed. “Like this?”

“Perfect. Close your eyes and smile softly. Darren, keep your hand on her chest, and move your mouth close to her ear, like you’re about to tell her a secret.”

Darren grinned. “Oh, there’s plenty I want to whisper in her ear.”

Kimani chuckled and playfully swatted his hand. “Behave.”

Willow took several pictures before having them lie down in another position. She climbed onto the bed so she could take some shots from a higher angle.

When the session was over, Willow hooked her camera up to the computer to transfer the pictures while the couple dressed. She’d touch up the images tomorrow, but she never changed anything about the clients themselves—she only made alterations to the colors, balance, and occasionally the focus. Her goal was to capture the natural beauty of the people she photographed.

“I can’t tell you how much I appreciate this, Willow,” Kimani said as she approached. “This experience has been wonderful and so much fun.”

“I’m so glad you loved it. And the pictures are amazing. I can’t wait for you to see them.”

“I can’t wait either.” Kimani spread her arms. “Can I hug you? I’d really love to.”

“Aw, of course!”

Kimani embraced Willow tightly. “Thank you. I know these pictures are going to be special.”

Willow smiled, and the women separated.

Darren walked up behind his wife and wrapped his arms around her. “Thanks, Willow.”

“Anytime. I’ll call you guys when they’re ready to pick up.”

“Sounds good.” Darren dropped his mouth to his wife’s ear. “Now, I can’t wait to get you alone…”

Kimani laughed. “Guess we better get going. Have a great night, Willow!”

Willow grinned. “You too!”

The couple left hand-in-hand. Willow waited until the pictures had finished transferring before she shut down the computer, took the top comforter off the bed, and locked up the studio. She followed the short path to the back door. The sun was setting, and splashes of orange, violet, and pink painted the darkening sky. Crickets were already chirping in the long shadows cast by the sunset, filling the evening air with soft music.

Once inside, she dropped the comforter into the washing machine and started it. She smiled. It’d been a long, busy day, starting with a newborn baby photo session—which always required time, patience, and a bit of luck—and ending with back-to-back boudoir shoots. But it had been a good day. She loved spending time with her clients, loved helping them capture those special moments.

Bebe, Remy, and Loki ran into the laundry room and rubbed against her legs, meowing.

Willow chuckled. “I know, I know. Dinner time.”

She walked into the kitchen with the cats running ahead of her. Their meows became louder and more demanding as they reached their dishes.

“You guys act like you don’t get fed three times a day.” She poured food into their bowls, and they dove in, quieting immediately. Willow ran her hands over their backs.

Not feeling up to cooking, she heated up a can of soup and ate at the kitchen island counter, scrolling through social media on her phone. After cleaning up, she paused to eye her cats. “Don’t cause any trouble while I’m in the shower.”

Bebe stared back, licking her chops.

In the bathroom, Willow undressed and hopped into the shower, doing her hardest not to think of Kian as she washed her hair and cleaned her body.

Of course, she failed…but she didn’t fight it.
