“Are you sure? If you kill yourself in a car accident, my sister will kill me when I get them back.”

I take a deep breath, “I’m sure. Where are you?”

“Safe house.”

“Where is Savannah?”

I hear Max racing through the house, “Savannah!”

“She went out to the pool,” his housekeeper, Maria, says.

“Trevor, she’s not here.”

I get into my truck, “Call the others. I’ll be there as soon as possible. I’m on my way.”

Max hangs up, and I drive at lightning-fast speed. I will burn this entire world down until my wife and child are back. Then, I am going to rip the skin from Joey’s bones. He will die a more painful death than anybody before.

A cop notices me driving far faster than the speed limit allows, and suddenly, his lights turn on. I call my connection at the police department and tell him to call his dog off. A few minutes later, his lights go off, and he switches lanes. Asshole. Had I not had connections with the police, I wouldn’t have stopped. I would’ve killed him if I did because no one would stop me from finding my wife.

After a twenty-minute drive, I pull into the garage of the safe house. I race inside, straight to Max’s office, to find everyone already here, which surprises me. I take a seat next to a distraught-looking Hunter.

Max says, “We are waiting for one other person. I know how some of you feel about my working relationship with Domenic De Luca. I want my wife and sister back, so I’ve enlisted his help. I’d ask for help from the devil if I had to.”

Hunter chuckles, “You already did. They do call him the devil for a reason.”

WILLOW

My head is pounding. I force one eye open and realize I’m in some sort of a warehouse, chained to the floor. I glance to my left and spot Mia.

“Mia,” I whisper. But she doesn’t respond. She’s out. Opening my other eye, I look around and see them. Jade, Ivy, and poor Savannah. My heart hurts worse than my body. My Max is going to be beside himself. He’ll blame himself for this even though he’s not responsible. I know he’ll work tirelessly to find us. I also know this time, it might be too late. They have all of us. This isn’t a message. It’s the end.

TREVOR

While Hunter and Max argue about De Luca’s involvement, I sit on the couch, my head reeling. I know exactly what Joey’s plans are. We all do. All of our women will be raped and murdered. We wouldn’t even be waiting on Domenic if we knew where they were being kept. We don’t. Not a fucking clue.

“Look, asshole. Do you want to find Jade or not?”

He clenches his jaw, “Of course I do. And I will. I don’t need De Luca to do it either.”

I shake my head, “Cocky kills people. Yeah, you could find her without his help, just one question for you, are you cool with not finding her until she’s dead? Because I’d take anyone’s help to find Mia before that fucking happens.”

Hunter has been one of my best friends for a long time, but he’s a cocky asshole. That cockiness will get our women killed by wasting our fucking time.

“We need to be on the same side here. Nobody is asking you to fucking love any of the De Luca’s. But Domenic can help.”

Nash is quiet as a mouse, so I ask, “Are you cool with this?”

He runs a hand through his hair, “I’m fucking cool with doing anything that gets Ivy back to me safely.”

“He’s here,” Max says.

A few minutes later, four large, tattooed men come into his office.

Domenic is the largest, wearing a black t-shirt and showing off his full sleeves. Domenic sits in an empty chair while the other men stand around him, “This is Dante, Drake and Damian, my brothers.”

We all nod hello. Domenic opens a laptop.

“Joey has bought six properties under a shell corporation in the last four months.”
