After I get changed, I text the driver we use since I don’t have my car. He texts back, saying he’ll be here in five minutes. If I know Trevor at all, he made him stay in the area so I wouldn’t have to wait long.
I run out of the room to the elevator, throwing my purse over my shoulder. Suddenly, I feel nauseous. Why am I nervous about this? It makes no sense, considering we’re already married.
Stephan is waiting for me with the door open, and I smile and slide in the back seat.
“Where are we going today, Mrs. Kincaid?”
I roll my eyes, of course, he already told him.
“Bridal Gowns of the Poconos, please.”
He chuckles, “Congratulations.”
As he drives through the twisty roads that resemble roller coasters, I feel my stomach roll. Shit. I hope I’m not getting a stomach bug. I text Willow while he’s driving.
I hope I get through today. I feel sick.
Willow: Nerves? Or something else?
I don’t know, but I’m on my way, so hopefully, I can keep from puking all over the pretty dresses.
Willow: I’ll bring you a ginger ale. Hopefully that helps.
Thank you. ??
I lay my head on the back of the seat and close my eyes, hoping this feeling passes before we get to the store. It doesn’t. Before I know it, Stephan says, “We’re here.”
He parks, gets out, and quickly comes around to open my door, “Are you okay? You look pale.”
I paste a fake smile on my face, “I’m fine. Just tired. Thank you. You can go. I’ll have Willow take me home.”
He flashes me a disapproving look, “You can ride with her, but I have to follow you. I’m assigned to you for your safety.”
I glare at him, “Stephan, I’m a fucking assassin. I don’t need a guard.”
He shrugs and leans against the car as if he doesn’t have a care in the world, “I’m sorry. Mr. Kincaid ordered it. Until he cancels it, I must follow his orders.”
“I’ll be talking to him about this later. Don’t expect to be on my ass for very long.”
I blow out a long breath and storm off into the store.
Jade, Ivy, and Willow are all sitting and having a glass of champagne.
Willow hands me ginger ale and a small packet of crackers. I get strange looks from the other two, but I shrug, “Nope. It’s not that. Stomach bug, I think.”
I open the drink and take a few small sips before eating the small package of crackers. Suddenly, I feel a bit better, not great, but also not like I’m going to vomit everywhere.
“Better?” Willow asks.
I nod, “Much. I must have been hungry.”
The clerk comes out, “Hi, I’m Gwen. You must be Mia,” she says with a huge smile on her face.
I nod, “I am.”
“The girls picked a few dresses out for you.”
She takes me back to a large changing room and helps me get into a bridal bustier.
