“Willow, you did not have sex with someone else. You were raped. It is not the same. I promise you it’ll be okay. Max is going to kill him, though.”
“Good,” she whimpers.
With the chains on my wrists, I stroke her hand as much as I can, “We are going to teach you to fight after this, okay?”
“Yes,” she says as she clutches onto me for dear life. I’m holding her tight when the ground literally shakes, along with a loud boom.
“What the fuck?”
Jade asks, “Was that a bomb?”
I laugh, “I’m not sure, but I’d bet money our guys are responsible for it.”
“Since when do we use bombs, Mia?”
I giggle at her naivety, “We don’t. However, my brother does have bombs as well as rocket launchers.”
Savannah wakes up crying, so Jade goes over to her, “It’s okay, Savvie. We’re here.”
Ten minutes later, we hear multiple gunshots. When the door opens, we all simultaneously hold our breath. If they come in here and see big guy dead, they might just shoot me and get it over with.
Max walks through the door and looks at Willow. The heartbreak is written all over his face. He knows. Next, Trevor walks through the door with a rocket launcher in his hand. I can’t help but laugh.
My brother comes over and takes his wife from my arms, “Sweetheart, I’m sorry.” She clings to him like he’s her life source.
Trevor scoops me into his arms, “Beautiful psycho, are you responsible for the dead man?”
I giggle, “It was a team effort.”
Hunter walks through the door and races to Jade while Nash speeds to Ivy, who is still passed out.
“Is Joey dead?”
Trevor kisses me on the head, “No. He’s tied up and waiting for us.”
I whisper in his ear, “He raped Willow.”
He nods, “We know.”
Domenic De Luca comes through the door and comes over and unlocks all of our chains. Trevor releases his one hand from me and shakes his hand, “Thank you. We owe you. But no drugs. If your woman is ever in danger, call us.”
He chuckles, “I don’t do the girlfriend or wife thing. But agreed, no drugs.”
When Domenic leaves, Trevor sets me down, “Did they hurt you?”
“No.”
He touches my stomach, kneels before me, and kisses my stomach, “And our little nugget?”
I giggle, “Just fine. A little hungry but perfect otherwise.”
“Everybody out to the van. I need to get my wife back to the safe house. I’ve got someone coming to get Joey and his guys,” Max says.
Savannah comes over to us and puts her arm around me, “Hey Savvie.”
We all walk out to the van quietly. Max carries Willow. She will be okay, but it’s going to take time after what she went through. Why her? Is it because she was awake first? Or to hurt Max? I’m sure the plan was to rape every one of us if they had gotten the chance.
My brother gently places Willow in the front passenger seat and buckles her in. The rest of us get in the back. Max is talking to his wife, but she doesn’t respond. She stares out the window like she’s far away, lost in the trauma she just experienced—my poor friend. I am not sure how, but I need to help her through this.
